Ray Tracing in One Weekend Book Series

Ray Tracing in One Weekend Book Series

The Ray Tracing in One Weekend series of books

The Ray Tracing in One Weekend series of books are now available to the public for free online. They are now released under the CC0 license. This means that they are as close to public domain as we can get. (While that also frees you from the requirement of providing attribution, it would help the overall project if you could point back to this web site as a service to other users.) These books are formatted for printing directly from your browser, where you can also (on most browsers) save them as PDF. In Ray Tracing in One Weekend, you will build a simple brute-force path tracer. Continuing with Ray Tracing: The Next Week, you will add textures, volumes (like fog), rectangles, instances, lights, and support for lots of objects using a bounding volume hierarchy (BVH). Finally, with Ray Tracing: The Rest Of Your Life, we'll dive into the math of creating a very serious ray tracer.

    Aztec

    Aztec

A reusable native Android rich text editor component

Aztec (which extends EditText) is a rich-text editor component for writing HTML documents in Android. You can check the minimum Android version supported by looking at the minSdkVersion configuration within build.gradle. There is an optional list type you can enable in the editor. In addition to ordered and unordered lists you can use task list. A task list is an unordered list that shows and saves checkboxes instead of bullets. By default, Aztec allows nested blocks. In certain cases, this doesn't have to be the preferred behavior. There is an option to disable nested blocks. When switched, this editor will always add media and horizontal rules after the currently selected block, not in the middle of it. Aztec now supports placeholders to draw views that are not natively supported by the EditText and Spannable API. The functionality creates a span in the visual editor and draws an Android view over it.

Floki is a simple HTML parser that enables search for nodes using CSS selectors. Floki needs the :leex module in order to compile. Normally this module is installed with Erlang in a complete installation. By default, Floki uses a patched version of mochiweb_html for parsing fragments due to its ease of installation (it's written in Erlang and has no outside dependencies). fast_html is generally faster, according to the benchmarks conducted by its developers.

    Sanitize

    Sanitize

    Ruby HTML and CSS sanitizer

Sanitize is an allowlist-based HTML and CSS sanitizer. It removes all HTML and/or CSS from a string except the elements, attributes, and properties you choose to allow. Using a simple configuration syntax, you can tell Sanitize to allow certain HTML elements, certain attributes within those elements, and even certain URL protocols within attributes that contain URLs. You can also allow specific CSS properties, @ rules, and URL protocols in elements or attributes containing CSS. Any HTML or CSS that you don't explicitly allow will be removed. Sanitize is based on the Nokogiri HTML5 parser, which parses HTML the same way modern browsers do, and Crass, which parses CSS the same way modern browsers do. As long as your allowlist config only allows safe markup and CSS, even the most malformed or malicious input will be transformed into safe output.

    glslCanvas

    glslCanvas

Simple tool to load GLSL shaders on HTML Canvas using WebGL

glslCanvas is a JavaScript library for loading and animating GLSL fragment and vertex shaders inside HTML canvas elements with WebGL. Developers can attach shaders through HTML data attributes or instantiate a programmable canvas sandbox in JavaScript. The library automatically creates the WebGL context, compiles the supplied shader, and begins rendering it. Shaders can be loaded from inline strings or external URLs and reloaded while the page is running. Built-in uniforms expose elapsed time, viewport resolution, mouse position, and ordered texture inputs. Custom uniforms and textures can also be supplied, making the library useful for shader demos, generative graphics, interactive backgrounds, and learning tools.

    ECMAScript

    ECMAScript

Status, process, and documents for ECMA-262

The most accurate and up-to-date ECMAScript specification. It contains the content of the most recent yearly snapshot plus any finished proposals (those that have reached Stage 4 in the proposal process and thus are implemented in several implementations and will be in the next practical revision) since that snapshot was taken. This Ecma Standard defines the ECMAScript 2022 Language. It is the twelfth edition of the ECMAScript Language Specification. Since publication of the first edition in 1997, ECMAScript has grown to be one of the world's most widely used general-purpose programming languages. It is best known as the language embedded in web browsers but has also been widely adopted for server and embedded applications. ECMAScript is based on several originating technologies, the most well-known being JavaScript (Netscape) and JScript (Microsoft). The language was invented by Brendan Eich at Netscape and first appeared in that company's Navigator 2.0 browser.

    Emogrifier

    Emogrifier

Converts CSS styles into inline style attributes in your HTML code

Emogrifier converts CSS styles into inline style attributes in your HTML code. This ensures proper display on email and mobile device readers that lack stylesheet support. This utility was developed as part of Intervals to deal with the problems posed by certain email clients (namely Outlook 2007 and GoogleMail) when it comes to the way they handle styling contained in HTML emails. As many web developers and designers already know, certain email clients are notorious for their lack of CSS support. While attempts are being made to develop common email standards, implementation is still a ways off. The primary problem with uncooperative email clients is that most tend to only regard inline CSS, discarding all style elements and links to stylesheets in link elements. Emogrifier solves this problem by converting CSS styles into inline style attributes in your HTML code.

    HTML Anything

    HTML Anything

    The agentic HTML editor

HTML Anything is an agentic HTML editor that helps local AI agents generate polished HTML artifacts across multiple content formats. It is built for workflows where the user describes a desired output and the agent writes the HTML that can then be previewed, edited, and shipped. The project supports a wide surface area, including magazine layouts, decks, posters, social posts, prototypes, and data-oriented artifacts. It emphasizes local-first creation, reusable design skills, and practical export paths rather than a closed hosted editor model. The repository uses modern web technologies and is positioned as a flexible creative workspace for agent-assisted design. Its value is in turning AI-generated HTML into usable visual deliverables without forcing every project into a traditional design tool.

    HTMLMinifier

    HTMLMinifier

    Javascript-based HTML compressor/minifier (with Node.js support)

HTMLMinifier is a highly configurable, well-tested, JavaScript-based HTML minifier. Minifier options like sortAttributes and sortClassName won't impact the plain-text size of the output. However, they form long repetitive chains of characters that should improve compression ratio of gzip used in HTTP compression. SVG tags are automatically recognized, and when they are minified, both case-sensitivity and closing slashes are preserved, regardless of the minification settings used for the rest of the file. HTMLMinifier can't work with invalid or partial chunks of markup. This is because it parses markup into a tree structure, then modifies it (removing anything that was specified for removal, ignoring anything that was specified to be ignored, etc.), then it creates a markup out of that tree and returns it.

    Selmer

    Selmer

A fast, Django inspired template system in Clojure

A fast, Django inspired template system in pure Clojure. Selmer templates consist of plain text that contains embedded expression and filter tags. While Selmer is primarily meant for HTML generation, it can be used for templating any text. Selmer compiles the template files and replaces any tags with the corresponding functions for handling dynamic content. The compiled template can then be rendered given a context map. When rendering files Selmer will cache the compiled template. A recompile will be triggered if the last modified timestamp of the file changes. Note that changes in files referenced by the template will not trigger a recompile. This means that if your template extends or includes other templates you must touch the file that's being rendered for changes to take effect.

    Simple.css

    Simple.css

Simple.css is a classless CSS template to make a good website

A classless CSS framework that makes semantic HTML look good. By classless I mean that there are no CSS classes anywhere in the CSS or the HTML. So your website can look just like this using plain old vanilla HTML. When starting a new project, I wanted a CSS framework that would get me up and running quickly, and give me something I could hack on. I got sick of all these giant frameworks that include everything but the kitchen sink, 90% of which I’ll never use. For example, the minified CSS for the Bootstrap framework is 144KB in total. By comparison, Simple.css is around 4KB. Obviously Simple.css and Bootstrap don’t compare in terms of their functionality, but Simple.css allows website developers to spin something up very quickly that looks good and needs very little work. By using something like Simple.css, provides the basics to get up and running quickly (or just use it as-is for a simple, good-looking site) yet not have to learn an extremely convoluted framework.

    Welcome to node-html-to-image

    Welcome to node-html-to-image

A Node.js module that generates images from HTML

This module exposes a function that generates images (png, jpeg) from HTML. It uses a puppeteer in headless mode to achieve it. Additionally, it embarks Handlebars to provide a way to add logic to your HTML. When you install Puppeteer, it downloads a recent version of Chromium (~170MB Mac, ~282MB Linux, ~280MB Win) that is guaranteed to work with the API. node-html-to-image takes a screenshot of the body tag's content. If you want to set output image's resolution you need to set its dimension using CSS. Handlerbars is a templating language. It generates HTML from a template and an input object. In the following example we provide a template to node-html-to-image and a content object to fill the template.
