    mbpfan

    mbpfan

A simple daemon to control fan speed on all MacBook/MacBook Pros

mbpfan is a lightweight daemon for Linux that provides fan speed management for MacBook and MacBook Pro hardware. It reads temperature data via the coretemp kernel module and drives fan speeds through the applesmc interface, making it especially valuable for users running Linux natively on Apple hardware where automatic thermal control may be lacking. The daemon supports multiple processors and multiple fans, allowing flexible configurations for complex Mac models, and aims to keep systems both cool and quiet by dynamically adjusting fan behavior. While originally based on Allan McRae’s mbpfan, this enhanced version expands compatibility and tuning options. It’s especially useful on Linux installations where default drivers don’t effectively communicate with Apple’s proprietary sensor and fan hardware. Users often pair it with custom configuration profiles to match their preferred balance of noise and temperature control.

    ESP32-Paxcounter

    ESP32-Paxcounter

Wifi & BLE driven passenger flow metering with cheap ESP32 boards

Wifi & Bluetooth driven, LoRaWAN enabled, battery-powered mini Paxcounter built on cheap ESP32 LoRa IoT boards. Paxcounter is an ESP32 MCU-based device for metering passenger flows in real time. It counts how many mobile devices are around. This gives an estimation of how many people are around. Paxcounter detects Wifi and Bluetooth signals in the air, focusing on mobile devices by evaluating their MAC addresses. The intention of this project is to do this without intrusion in privacy: You don't need to track people-owned devices if you just want to count them. Therefore, Paxcounter does not persistently store MAC addresses and does no kind of fingerprinting the scanned devices. Data can either be stored on a local SD-card, transferred to the cloud using LoRaWAN network or MQTT over TCP/IP, or transmitted to localhost using serial (SPI) interface. LED Matrix display (similar to this 64x16 model, can be ordered on Aliexpress). SD-card (see section SD-card here) for logging pax data.

    Project MINI RACK

    Project MINI RACK

Miniature rack builds, for portable or compact Homelabs

Project MINI RACK is a project dedicated to designing, documenting, and showcasing compact, portable rack-mount or small-form factor “mini” labs, suitable for home labs, edge deployments, or mobile network stacks. The repository contains build guides, hardware lists, layout ideas (10” wide racks, 1U/2U modules, custom shelves), 3D printable components, and real-world examples of mini homelab rigs. Its goal is to help hobbyists, devops engineers, or tinkerers understand how to build efficient, space-conscious infrastructure rather than large server racks. It also covers the ecosystem around small racks: power distribution units (PDUs), patch panels, cable management, 3D-printed rack shelves, and integration of SBCs, mini-PCs, switches, and storage. The project is community-oriented, inviting users to share build-showcases, discuss parts availability, adapt designs, and refine standards.

    ThingPulse ESP8266 Weather Station

    ThingPulse ESP8266 Weather Station

ESP8266 Weather Station library supporting OpenWeatherMap

This code works best with the NodeMCU V2 ESP8266 module and an 0.96" OLED display. To get you up and running in no time we created a kit that contains all the necessary parts. By buying this and other kits from us you are funding the maintenance and development of this library. Make sure you use a version of the Arduino IDE which is supported by the ESP8266 platform. If you are using the PlatformIO environment for building, choose one of the available IDE integration or the Atom-based IDE, install libraries 561, 562, and 563 with "platformio lib install", adapt the WeatherStationDemo.ino file to your needs. The simple class uses the header date and time to set the clock. NTP-based time class written by Fabrice Weinberg. We fixed many bugs and improved performance and changed the API a little bit. Either compare your code to the updated WeatherStationDemo or read through the upgrade guide.

    display-switch

    display-switch

    Turn a $30 USB switch into a full-featured multi-monitor KVM switch

This utility watches for USB device connect/disconnect events and switches monitor inputs via DDC/CI. This turns a simple USB switch into a full-fledged KVM solution: press one button on your USB switch and all your monitors connect to a different input. It is supposed to be installed on all computers that could be connected to these monitors since the app only switches monitors "one way" and relies on itself running on the other computers to switch it "the other way" as needed.

    SIV (System Information Viewer)

    SIV (System Information Viewer)

SIV displays useful Windows, network, and hardware info.

SIV by Ray Hinchliffe. 'System Information Viewer' is a general Windows utility for displaying lots of useful Windows, Network and hardware info - CPU info, PCI info, PCMCIA info, USB info SMBus info, SPD info, ACPI methods, Machine info, Hardware Sensors, Networked computers, Operating System Information and more. SIV is designed for Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP, 2012, 2008, 2003, 2000 and NT4. Windows 95, 98 and Me are also supported. SIV can also be used to control AIO devices, such as fans and LEDs. To do this, you need to specify the -AIOCTL command line qualifier. When -AIOCTL is specified, SIV will automatically do the EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled registry change and restart the USB device. SIV (System Information Viewer) uses pcidevs.txt for the PCI devices, usbdevs.txt for the USB devices, and mondevs.txt for monitoring pcmdevs.txt PCMCIA device descriptions.

    AWS EC2 FPGA

    AWS EC2 FPGA

AWS EC2 FPGA hardware and software development Kit

AWS EC2 FPGA Development Kit is a set of development and runtime tools to develop, simulate, debug, compile and run hardware-accelerated applications on Amazon EC2 F1 instances. It is distributed between this GitHub repository and FPGA Developer AMI - Centos/AL2 provided by AWS with no cost of development tools. After creating an FPGA design (also called CL - Custom logic), developers can create an Amazon FPGA Image (AFI) and easily deploy it to an F1 instance. AFIs are reusable, shareable and can be deployed in a scalable and secure way. Development experience leverages an optimized compiler to allow easy new accelerator development or migration of existing C/C++/openCL, Verilog/VHDL to AWS FPGA instances. Fully custom hardware development experience provides hardware developers with the tools required for developing AFIs for AWS FPGA instances.

    HttpKernel Component

    HttpKernel Component

A structured process for converting a Request into a Response

The HttpKernel component provides a structured process for converting a Request into a Response by making use of the EventDispatcher component. It's flexible enough to create full-stack frameworks, micro-frameworks or advanced CMS systems like Drupal. Every HTTP web interaction begins with a request and ends with a response. Your job as a developer is to create PHP code that reads the request information (e.g. the URL) and creates and returns a response (e.g. an HTML page or JSON string). Typically, some sort of framework or system is built to handle all the repetitive tasks (e.g. routing, security, etc) so that a developer can build each page of the application. Exactly how these systems are built varies greatly. The HttpKernel component provides an interface that formalizes the process of starting with a request and creating the appropriate response. The component is meant to be the heart of any application or framework, no matter how varied the architecture of that system.
