Open Source Kotlin Ham Radio Software

Meshtastic Android is a free, open-source application that enables communication through decentralized LoRa mesh radio networks. It connects Android devices to compatible Meshtastic radio hardware, allowing users to exchange messages without relying on cellular networks or internet connectivity. The application supports encrypted text messaging, communication channels, and direct conversations between network participants. Users can view connected devices, monitor signal information, and manage radio configurations. It also provides location sharing and map-based visualization when positioning data is available. Messages can travel between compatible radio nodes through mesh networking, extending communication beyond direct device connections. Meshtastic Android is particularly useful for outdoor enthusiasts, emergency preparedness, remote communities, and off-grid communication.
