    WSJT

    WSJT

    Weak signal ham radio communication

The WSJT project implements software for amateur radio communication using state-of-the-art digital techniques. Typical applications involve "DXing" at LF, MF, HF, and VHF+ frequencies, including meteor scatter and EME ("moonbounce"). Major emphasis is placed on weak-signal techniques. Summary Program Descriptions: WSJT-X supports the communication protocols FST4, FT4, FT8, JT4, JT9, JT65, Q65, MSK144, WSPR, FST4W, and Echo, each optimized for different sorts of radio-wave propagation. MAP65 is designed for EME an VHF and higher frequencies. It provides a panoramic, polarization-matching receiver for the Q65 and JT65. modes. Programs WSJT and WSPR are interesting primarily for historical reasons. They are superseded by WSJT-X.

    KA9Q Mirror

An impressive early implementation of TCP/IP

Mirror directly approved by Phil Karn, KA9Q. The KA9Q NOS TCP/IP package began life way back in 1985 on a surplus Xerox 820 computer board running CP/M with a 4 MHz Zilog Z-80 CPU, 64KB of RAM and a 8" floppy drive holding all of 243KB. Later, it moved to the IBM PC with the 8088 and 80286 CPUs running MS-DOS. KA9Q NOS was only the second known implementation of the Internet protocols for low-end computers. Unlike PC/IP, KA9Q NOS could simultaneously act as an Internet client, a server and an IP packet router, and handle multiple client and server sessions. KA9Q NOS attracted many contributors and became widely used throughout the 1980s and 1990s in amateur packet radio and various educational projects. In a way, it was the Linux of its day. KA9Q NOS became the basis for several low-end commercial dialup terminal servers and routers. It influenced the development of the Internet protocols and implementations, including the Linux kernel.

    ACARS decoder

    ACARS decoder

An open source Acars decoder with rtl_sdr frontend

Acarsdec is an open source, multi-channels realtime ACARS decoder for Linux. It features : - up to four channels decoded simultaneously - error detection AND correction - input from sound file , alsa sound card or software defined radio (SRD) via a rtl dongle (http://sdr.osmocom.org/trac/wiki/rtl-sdr) or airspy (http://www.airspy.com) - could send decoded acars to a server via UDP in planeploter format or its own dedicated format. The 4 channels decoding is particularly useful with the rtl dongle. It allows to directly listen simultaneously to 4 different frequencies , with a very low cost hardware. Since version 3.0, acarsdec comes with acarsserv : a database backend program to store received acars messages.
