Radiance is a free, highly accurate ray-tracing software system for UNIX computers. It is a suite of programs designed for the analysis and visualization of lighting in design. Radiance is superior to simpler lighting calculation and rendering tools in that there are no limitations on the geometry or the materials that may be simulated. The Enhanced MetaFile format (EMF) is the native vector graphics file format on Windows. Qt is a cross-platform application development framework, widely used for the development of GUI programs. Although it provides tools for almost every aspect of software development, Qt doesn't include a solution for the rendering of the EMF image format. libqemf covers this lack and provides the QEmfRenderer class that enables Qt based applications to easily draw the contents of EMF files onto paint devices. -

...Since the game engine can be considered as just another tool (it is basically an advanced map/level viewer, the game engine isn't the most important aspect of the platform, and game developers wanting to use our maps can decide themselves which of these engines they wish to use. The most important aspect of this platform is the community of game developers themselves, the help they provide between one another, and the tools (which allow converting of models, maps, .. in between game engines).
