The application is a result of one-semester subject supposed to introduce to OpenGL. Code is, at least I hope, properly commented and is published for better understanding of very simple, yet already archaic, methods of using OpenGL without shaders (everything is build from gl, glu, glut, glew and alut libraries and the technique I feel most advanced in the project are VAO objects). Primarily for use with the REVEAL web system this daemon polls a mysql database for 3d rendering requests. Currently the system will handle PMVS2 from U. Wash and Iray from Brown U. systems. Much of the code was ported from the osm-bundler system http://code.google.com/p/osm-bundler/ The daemon curently runs in win64/linux64 for PMVS and linux64 for Brown's Iray algroithm. The code has been tested and running on Ubuntu 11.10 -

...This tool will feature an easy to use interface, and will be scalable, able to produce a large batch of similar plants simultaneously. The project is current just starting - I'm laying down some basic code to generate a tree skeleton, then using that skeleton to create an "envelope" mesh. Then I plan on adding features in subsequent releases. Then I'll probably end up rewriting all of the code and writing some documentation at the point where I have a good basic feature set. I will release new alphas every few weeks, containing source code and OS-specific binaries, unless I put development on hold for a while (see below). ... -
