PuntoGPS is a simple tracking application to show your position to others, e.g. during urban bike rides :) It's made up of a GPS tracking app and a web based map. The app can be run on any GPS equipped device (smartphone, tablet, etc) by the users that want to show their position and/or track their paths. No user account is required, but users can set a short status message to identify (the default is the device name). The web map shows the current position of the active users, allowing others to find them. It runs on any browser and supports a great variety of tile layers (Open Street Map and Google Satellite among others). As a php+mysql service can be installed on any web server (i.e. your bike-team site!). This program gets data from a GPS, parses it, and calculate things such as acceleration and distance traveled. That is then saved it to a CSV file. Also shows data in real time and has a speedometer to show your speed in real time (in KM/h or MPH).

This project has ended. I have used OpenFlightNav for several years on a netbook sitting on my lap in the cockpit. 1. Navigation system for private (glider) pilots. A separate application (NavMapMaker) is available to create your own maps based on scanned or other digital maps. So, you may stop buying expensive digital maps. OpenPMU is a collaborative project developing a software defined Phasor Measurement Unit for Smart Grids and electrical utilities. This project is currently hosted by Queen’s University Belfast.

Our project consist in porting positioning algorithms on a GPU. We will improve programs which are already working on CPU in order to make them compatible with the CUDA technology offered by Nvidia. The advantage of this technology is that it allows us to use massive multithreading and so make calculations go faster. Algorithms will be implemented in C++.
