    git absorb

    git absorb

    git commit --fixup, but automatic

...The command essentially looks at the lines that were modified, finds a changeset modifying those lines, and amends that changeset to include your uncommitted changes. If the changes can't be made without conflicts, they remain uncommitted. This workflow is insanely useful for things like applying review feedback. You just make file changes, run hg absorb and the mapping of changes to commits sorts itself out. It is magical.

    transcrypt git

    transcrypt git

transparently encrypt files within a git repository

A script to configure transparent encryption of sensitive files stored in a Git repository. Files that you choose will be automatically encrypted when you commit them, and automatically decrypted when you check them out. The process will degrade gracefully, so even people without your encryption password can safely commit changes to the repository's non-encrypted files. transcrypt protects your data when it's pushed to remotes that you may not directly control (e.g., GitHub, Dropbox clones,...

    vim-fugitive

    vim-fugitive

A Git wrapper so awesome, it should be illegal

...It provides commands that mirror common Git operations—status, blame, commit, stash, rebase—while threading results into split windows and buffers you can navigate. One hallmark is :Gblame, which overlays line-level authorship directly in your file, allowing fast debugging of changes and context. Another is the tight integration with diffs and staging: you can stage or reset hunks interactively without leaving Vim. Fugitive also understands Git objects and remotes, making it easy to browse commits, open files at specific revisions, or push and pull with minimal friction. It is designed to be composable with other tools and mappings, so Git workflows feel like a natural extension of editing. ...

    git-secret

    git-secret

A bash-tool to store your private data inside a git repository

...Filenames, locations, and passwords change from time to time, or new information appears, and other information is removed. When secrets are stored separately from your repo, you can not tell for sure which version of the configuration file was used with each commit or deploy. When building the automated deployment system there will be one extra step: download and place these secret-configuration files where they need to be. This also means you have to maintain extra secure servers where all your secrets are stored.

    posh-git

    posh-git

    A PowerShell environment for Git

...The prompt within Git repositories can show the current branch and the state of files (additions, modifications, deletions) within. Provides tab completion for common commands when using git. Prompt formatting, among other things, can be customized. Displaying file status in the git prompt for a very large repo can be prohibitively slow. Rather than turn off file status entirely, you can disable it on a repo-by-repo basis by adding individual repository paths. PowerShell generates its prompt by executing a prompt function, if one exists. posh-git defines such a function in profile.example.ps1 that outputs the current working directory followed by an abbreviated git status.

    git-sizer

    git-sizer

Compute various size metrics for a Git repository

...You might want to look into Git-LFS or git-annex, which allow you to version your media assets in Git while actually storing them outside of your repository. Avoid storing file archives (e.g., ZIP files, tarballs) in Git, especially if compressed. Different versions of such files don't delta well against each other, so Git can't store them efficiently.

    git-peek

    git-peek

git repo to local editor instantly

...It stores the repository in a temporary directory and deletes it when you close the editor or git peek. If you don't pass git peek input, it will let you search Github repositories and show trending repositories. If you paste a link to a file on GitHub, it will quickly open the file in your local editor. If you pass it a GitHub repository, it fetches a tarball instead of using git and decompresses it while downloading it (streaming). From unscientific benchmarks, this is about 2x faster than cloning. While downloading & decompressing the tarball, it also downloads the specific file linked to (or the README.md) via JSDelivr's CDN.

    Gradle Libraries Plugin

    Gradle Libraries Plugin

This plugin allows to specify versions of external libraries

...This plugin also uses com.github.ben-manes.versions plugin to automatically update libraries once new releases are available. Run ./gradlew syncLibraries to create $rootDir/dependencies.json file with all currently known dependencies. Once dependencies.json file is in place by generating via syncLibraries task or just by manually creating it, all declared in dependencies.json libraries can be used in project files. Push your changes to the remote. Create a pull request from your branch to the master branch. Voila. Your co-workers can review the changes, comment on them and approve them.
