So, i made it: an arkanoid / breakout clone which have the particularity to play at 360°. pybreak360.cfg to fine configure outside game. pybreak360_kbd.py for special international keymap. -

Islaki Defender
Missile Command-type game for Linux using Pygame
IMPORTANT: The cursor is used to aim, the primary firing buttions are 'J', 'K', and 'L'. There is no startup menu as of yet so the game just jumps right in. Islaki defender is a program I wrote a few years ago for python 2.7. I have tried updating for Python3, however pygame does not appear to be compatible just yet. This game is similar to Missile Command however it adds an extra dimension of variability. The name of this program came about when I tried to do a trick-shot with my keyboard. I was typing in "island", spun around after the 'a', and hit between the 'k' and 'i' keys, resulting in the word "islaki". ... -

Super Coco
Super Mario Bros python version with custom levels
Original Super Mario Bros python rewrite : I actually only bothered recreating the first level as then the game forks off : it starts off as regular Mario and then takes an unexpected turn. We created that game for our video-game programmer of a brother (aka Coco) wedding as a best man speech. So geeky. The so-called Coco finished the game in one go without losing a single life in front of a crowd of 200 at his own wedding and after quite a few drinks. -

...It has a large generic component plus modules to refine it for different game systems (e.g. HarnMaster, HERO, AD&D) and to simulate weather, combat, character generation, etc. Important: Just released v0.9 breaks database compatibility with v0.8. I don't think this actually affects anyone (since as far as I know, nobody is actively using this but me) but wanted to make that clear. Anyway, you'll need to drop all items from characters before you upgrade and re-add them back afterwards. This shouldn't happen again. I've just started doing work on this again after a hiatus of about 5 years. ...

This project has been discontinued for a while now. Recently I decided to come back and work a little bit more on it. I added some new stuff and here is the new result. This will be the final version of the game, I do not intend to release any new stuff in the nearby future. The game isn't perfect and I believe it has some broken code. Anyway, it should be playable. Pylot is a multi-stage project to build a complex 2D spaceflight game in Python, inspired by Asteroids, XPilot, and Luola.
