    Ambient

    Ambient

    The multiplayer game engine

Ambient is an open-source, cross-platform runtime and engine for building and deploying high-performance multiplayer games and 3D applications, using a modern stack built on Rust, WebAssembly (WASM), and WebGPU. It aims to make multiplayer game development accessible and flexible, providing an entity-component-system (ECS) at its core that doubles as a real-time in-game database; everything in the game — from world objects to runtime data — is represented as entities + components, which can be synchronized across clients automatically. Ambient supports a package-based workflow reminiscent of Rust’s crate system, where “packages” bundle code, assets, and schema definitions; this modular design encourages reuse, mixing, and sharing of content. The engine includes an asset pipeline that can stream and load common 3D formats (e.g. GLB, FBX) on demand, so players don’t need to pre-download large asset bundles — the engine handles asset streaming.

    Basic Computer Games

    Basic Computer Games

An updated version of the classic "Basic Computer Games" book

Basic Computer Games is a modern revitalization of the classic “Basic Computer Games” book’s collection of games, ported and expanded into various modern, memory-safe and scripting languages. It includes illustrative code examples of many classic games (e.g. Blackjack, Bowling) in multiple languages, with the goal of making the historical games accessible and educational in safe modern environments. Definitely use the most recent versions and features of the target language, but also try to keep the code samples simple and explainable – the goal is to teach programming in the target language, not necessarily demonstrate the cleverest one-line tricks, or big system "enterprise" coding techniques designed for thousands of lines of code.

    Bullet Physics SDK

    Bullet Physics SDK

Real-time collision detection and multi-physics simulation for VR

This is the official C++ source code repository of the Bullet Physics SDK: real-time collision detection and multi-physics simulation for VR, games, visual effects, robotics, machine learning etc. We are developing a new differentiable simulator for robotics learning, called Tiny Differentiable Simulator, or TDS. The simulator allows for hybrid simulation with neural networks. It allows different automatic differentiation backends, for forward and reverse mode gradients. TDS can be trained using Deep Reinforcement Learning, or using Gradient based optimization (for example LFBGS). In addition, the simulator can be entirely run on CUDA for fast rollouts, in combination with Augmented Random Search. This allows for 1 million simulation steps per second. It is highly recommended to use PyBullet Python bindings for improved support for robotics, reinforcement learning and VR. Use pip install pybullet and checkout the PyBullet Quickstart Guide.

    PokeAPI

    PokeAPI

    The Pokémon API

This is a full RESTful API linked to an extensive database detailing everything about the Pokémon main game series. We've covered everything from Pokémon to Berry Flavors. We have awesome documentation on how to use this API. It takes minutes to get started. This API will always be publicly available and will never require any extensive setup process to consume. Each time the build script is run, it will iterate over each table in the database, wipe it, and rewrite each row using the data found in data/v2/CSV. The option to build individual portions of the database was removed in order to increase the performance of the build script. There is also a multi-container set up, managed by Docker Compose. This setup allows you to deploy a production-like environment, with separate containers for each service and is recommended if you need to simply spin up PokéAPI.

    Redot Engine

    Redot Engine

    Multi-platform 2D and 3D game engine

Redot Engine is an open-source game engine that aims to provide a flexible foundation for building games — likely offering a modern, modular structure so developers can compose only the systems they need (rendering, physics, input, scripting, etc.). It is built to give a base framework rather than a full “batteries-included” engine, which makes it suitable for developers who prefer minimalism, want complete control over architecture, or desire to build custom workflows. Because it’s open-source, Redot-Engine is potentially community-driven, allowing anyone to inspect, extend, or customize core functionalities. Its modularity and open nature make it attractive for indie developers or hobbyists who want to avoid heavyweight engines with lots of built-in assumptions. Even if the engine may not yet rival more mature engines in features or polish, its openness and design philosophy can offer an appealing balance between simplicity and flexibility.

    Switch theme injector

    Switch theme injector

Create custom themes for the Nintendo Switch

The Switch theme injector project is split into three parts. Switch theme injector (Windows app): An app to create and edit custom themes. NXThemes installer: An homebrew app that runs on the switch itself and can be used to install and manage themes. Switch theme injector online (also called WebInjector): A port of the Windows injector as a web app, it lacks some features like custom applet icons and common.szs layouts support. The main objective is to develop a complete toolset to create and install custom themes on the switch. As the console os doesn't implement custom themes natively most of this is done by patching system SZS files to get the desired aspect. Unfortunately, SZS files from the switch os contain copyrighted data and can't be shared online that's why the nxtheme format has been developed, it contains only differential info and can be freely shared. Unless you're dealing with making your own patches and custom layouts you should only use nxtheme files.
