On Linux, this means that your system has to be running an X environment in order to run this program. SDLJoytest is a program which will allow you to select from all joysticks found on the system (by SDL), and then test that selected joystick or other game controller. SDLJoytest requires X, SDL, libGL & libGLU and, of course, a joystick to test.
