While preserving many of the features of Scrapy it lets you dynamically create and manage spiders via the Django admin interface. With Django Dynamic Scraper (DDS) you can define your Scrapy scrapers dynamically via the Django admin interface and save your scraped items in the database you defined for your Django project. Since it simplifies things DDS is not usable for all kinds of scrapers, but it is well suited for the relatively common case of regularly scraping a website with a list of updated items (e.g. news, events, etc.) and then dig into the detail page to scrape some more infos for each item. Django Dynamic Scraper tries to keep its data structure in the database as separated as possible from the models in your app, so it comes with its own Django model classes for defining scrapers, runtime information related to your scraper runs and classes. -

The idea of this package is to unify a lot of packages that make the same stuff: Take a string from os.environ, parse and cast it to some of useful python typed variables. To do that and to use the 12factor approach, some connection strings are expressed as url, so this package can parse it and return a urllib.parse.ParseResult. These strings from os.environ are loaded from a .env file and filled in os.environ with setdefault method, to avoid overwriting the real environment. A similar approach is used in Two Scoops of Django book and explained in the 12factor-Django article. django-environ is the Python package that allows you to use the Twelve-factor methodology to configure your Django application with environment variables.For that, it gives you an easy way to configure Django application using environment variables obtained from an environment file and provided by the OS. -

The default currency code length is 3 but you can change it with the CURRENCY_CODE_MAX_LENGTH setting. Currencies are listed on moneyed, and these modules use this to provide a choice list on the admin, also for validation. Django-money leaves you to use any custom model managers you like for your models, but it needs to wrap some of the methods to allow searching for models with money values. Also, the money_manager wrapper only wraps the standard QuerySet methods. If you define custom QuerySet methods, that do not end up using any of the standard ones (like "get", "filter" and so on), then you also need to manually decorate those custom methods. -
