    Procedural Graphics Workbench

Interactive desktop application for rendering various fractals.

Procedural Graphics Workbench (PGW) will be a versatile interactive desktop application for rendering various types of fractals and other procedural graphics. It will also allow users to combine rendered images using various blending modes and other raster operations to create new images. Some most important planned features: * deep zooming capability (similar to Fractint) * multithreaded rendering * rendering divided to various machines ("rendering cluster") * various coloring modes * blending and filtering (based on a common graph, not on simple layers) * central database for storing and retrieving rendering parameters

    perlineditor

Interactively create textures with Perlin noise

Perlin noise is a form of noise with local coherence. It's used in creating all kinds of graphics, from wood efffects to marble. The editor lets you create an image with Perlin noise interactively, and save it as a gif. You can change the noise parameters, and you can edit the palette, either loading it from a gif, or using the palette editor (right click to open the color picker, left click to move the two selection points about). There's also a handy tool for tuning the palette as the image adjusts (drag on the red circle to adjust, the black circles to move the edit range).

    Bimage

Bimage allows groups to view and generate images of infinite depth

Bimage is combination of javascript and Servlet scripting meant to allow users to explore images with (near-)infinite depth. Bimage uses javascript to create the images and then save them to the database for later use. This allows users to come together to explore and generate complex, depthful images. Bimage is targeted for Google App Engine (GAE), and uses the datastore for a backend, though it should be adaptable to other backends. This project is set up for eclipse using the GAE plugin. ...

    MandelHash

    MandelHash

MD5 hash used to position and color two overlaid Mandelbrot sets.

I'm using an MD5 hash of a username and password field to generate some entropy which is used to generate color pallets and positions / scaling of two Mandelbrot sets. These two images are overlaid to create interesting pictures which represent the entered credentials. I'm interested in all things security, this is mostly just for fun, but could possibly be used to help users identify mistakes in their password entry prior to submission and enforce a tighter failed password lockout policy. Please enjoy with a modern HTML5 enabled browser.

    OpenGROW

    OpenGROW

An open-source project to develop a plant generation tool.

...This tool will feature an easy to use interface, and will be scalable, able to produce a large batch of similar plants simultaneously. The project is current just starting - I'm laying down some basic code to generate a tree skeleton, then using that skeleton to create an "envelope" mesh. Then I plan on adding features in subsequent releases. Then I'll probably end up rewriting all of the code and writing some documentation at the point where I have a good basic feature set. I will release new alphas every few weeks, containing source code and OS-specific binaries, unless I put development on hold for a while (see below). ...
