PlaTec
Plate Tectonics simulator
PlaTec is a 2D terrain generator that uses a simplified model of plate tectonics to produce realistic heightmaps in real time. The simulator starts with a flat fractal map and splits it randomly into plates. Plates are moved around the map. If continents of two plates collide, they fold creating mountain belts. If oceanic crust of one plate collides with another plate, subduction occurs resulting in coastal mountain ranges or island chains. This project is part of my Bachelor of Engineering thesis in Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Helsinki, Finland. Reveal fractal patterns in irrational numbers
CloisterWalk can test your favorite number or will let you choose a number from a list. Many provided numbers are known irrationals, others are still uncertain. Enter the number of steps you would like to walk and click the Go button to produce a graph. If a number does not seem interesting, try switching between the square and hexagonal grids. Can you predict what is going to happen next time you click the Go button? Can you figure out why fractal patterns emerge? Can CloisterWalk be used to test numbers for irrationality? Enjoy! -

Complex Renderer
Simple renderer of complex functions including recursive
This program draws a user-defined function from complex plane to RGBA color. Currently, compiled program draws Mandelbrot set, but if you want to draw another function, you need to inherit it from 'Renderer' class in sources, pass it to 'Window' and recompile project. Including 4 versions. The first one was written with C++ and uses CPU 128-bit double. The second does the same, but was written with D language and Derelict3. The third uses GPU (GLSL shaders) to draw Mandelbrot set. It is extremely fast, but uses only 32-bit float. And finally, the fourth works on CPU, but uses arbitrary precision (OpenMP), so it hasn't limit for depth (except rendering time).
