Open Source ChromeOS Fonts

This project aims to develop the most complete, standard compliant, high-quality Chinese (and CJKV) fonts and resources, including bitmap and outline fonts of various styles. We also develop web-based tools to facilitate online font-dev collaborations.

We develop 2 artful digital font-families called “Linux Libertine” (serif font) and “Biolinum” (sans-serif). Both elegant good-readable Unicode fonts for daily & professional use (see OpenType & WOFF). Break the monotony of (c) W*ndows Fonts!

ShieldFont is an open-source typeface system designed to discourage unauthorized collection of written work for AI training. It replaces words in HTML with grammatically compatible decoys, then uses OpenType rules to display the intended text to human readers. Basic scrapers that collect source text without rendering the font receive the substituted version instead. React components, build-time tools, CDN assets, and downloadable fonts support several publishing workflows. Users can generate protected versions of their own typefaces and create private substitution mappings. An optional accessibility layer reveals the original text through a browser-side puzzle, but protected blocks are not fully WCAG compliant. The defense raises scraping costs rather than providing encryption and does not stop font analysis, rendered browsers, OCR, or screenshots.

Mona Sans is a modern, open-source typeface created to be highly legible and visually distinctive across a wide range of digital and typographic contexts. Designed with attention to clarity, proportions, and flexibility, it strikes a balance between geometric structure and humanistic warmth, making it suitable for user interfaces, web typography, branding, and editorial layouts. The family includes multiple weights and styles that support expressive typographic hierarchy while maintaining consistent character shapes that improve readability at both small and large sizes. Being released through the GitHub repository encourages collaboration, versioning, and community feedback, enabling designers and developers to contribute improvements or request feature expansions. It also includes documentation, specimen files, and usage examples to help users understand how to integrate the font into projects effectively.

Tadween is a powerful multilingual application allowing users to write Arabic in applications that support Unicode but don't fully support Arabic.

BirdFont is a font editor which lets you create vector graphics and export fonts in TTF, EOT and SVG format. Binary releases are available from the website.
