The GPFS Monitor Suite was developed at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) to assist with the deployment and operation of the GLADE storage envrionment, which utilizes IBM's General Parallel File System (GPFS). The suite uses perl scripts and Ganglia to provide low impact near real time monitoring of a GPFS multi-cluster environment consisting of 4,700+ Linux systems. Onboard NAND flash operations monitor for embedded Linux
Flashmon is a Linux kernel module that monitors NAND flash memory access events using Kprobes and Jprobes. Flashmon targets embedded boards shipped with bare flash chips managed with MTD : mainly JFFS2, UBIFS and YAFFS based systems. The monitored events are : flash page read / write requests, and flash block erase operations. Instructions on how to use Flashmon are included in the archive. -

imntr
A Resource Activity Monitor for Linux Machines
imntr (inode monitor) can be used to montior activity on files or directories. Monitoring is accomplished through the inotify API, which is available on Linux 2.6.13 and up. v1.1 added logging capabilities and cleaned up some of v1.0's code v1.2 no longer forces you to run imntr as root. If you want to monitor a privileged file, imntr will fail and tell you that you need to run imntr as root. -

A perl daemon loosely based on iWatch, used to create a "timemachine" lookalike backup with Dirvish. iWatch2 is based on iNotify. The daemon can monitor (and exclude) various sets of directories - defined in an XML file - and calls a command or script after a preset time passed (eg, starts a Dirvish backup after 1 hour). Of course not limited to execute Dirvish commands. -
