Transfer of Death is an app for file sharing and text chatting. It's meant to be used with a VPN. You'll need actual IP addresses to use it. 3-11-26: I haven't messed with this in a bit. It has trouble connecting out of it's own subnet. Zerotier or Tailscale is a necessity for this app, if you want to connect to PC's outside of your subnet. ...The primary task of this tool is to generate a randomized set of images from provided PNG layers and pack them into .car files. Then you can upload them to IPFS using nft.storage or other tools. nft-art-maker tool doesn't assume any way of uploading to ipfs, but I would recommend nft.storage where you can upload whole .car file. They offer free pinning service and Filecoin storage. So even if you delete it there or nft.storage stops working for some reason, the data will persist. Of course, learn about it first. They have a friendly UI, but you can also use the CLI tool for that. -

This software is only compatible with Windows devices and can only be used within the local network (devices must be connected to the same WIFI). ...If you run on multiple machines in your local network IPFS will exchange the files locally rather than downloading the same file multiple times from the internet. The data is held and shared by a collaborative cluster, which is provided by volunteers. Install ipfs on each of your systems - I recommend my AUR package go-ipfs-git which uses the hardened service file. It makes sense to set the parallel downloads to two and disable the download timeout, to avoid unnecessary aborts if ipfs needs initially a bit more time to find the right peers in the network (especially on high latency internet connections). -

Many of the usual centralization vs. decentralization arguments apply here, e.g. the servers are single points of failure, the service operator has the power over whom to serve and whom not, etc. ... -

...That's at least what's happening to me, and my aMule is shutting down or making the equipment unbearable. The solution seems to be to compile the latest version of Wxwidget, but so far, I have been unable to, so I have looked for an alternative to aMule. It is amuled, the devil which handles the downloads and is operated from the command line. But of course, handling it from the command line is quite cumbersome, my solution was to create a very basic graphical interface for amulecmd called 'Baya'. -
