EmuExec is the right answer to make emulation on linux as simple as possible. But it is more than a simple multisystem frontend, you just have to see it by yourself.

Oricutron is an emulator for the Oric series of computers, and the Pravetz 8D. It is written in plain C, and uses SDL. It is designed to be portable.

zBoy is a multiplatform GameBoy emulator that provides a load/save feature, can perform PCX screenshots either manually or automatically (every few seconds) and emulates an internal battery for ROMs that were designed to use one (this allows to use the internal save option provided by such games, remember highest scores, etc). zBoy supports some additionnal features, too, like intelligent saving of hi-scores for some games that aren't able to save their hi-scores table by themselves because of the lack of a battery-backed RAM on the cartridge, and improving screen's resolution output using graphic algorithms like Scale2x, Scale3x, eagle... Here you can see a comparison between graphic algorithms supported by zBoy. This is also one of the very few GameBoy emulators that provides a 2-gameboys link emulation, which makes it possible to play some games in 2-players mode on a LAN. The emulator is available for Linux, DOS and Windows (but should compile for other systems, too).

KCemu is an emulator for the KC85 homecomputer series and other Z80 based microcomputers like Z1013, LC80, Polycomputer 880 and BIC A5105. The emulation supports a number of additional hardware, e.g. floppy disk drives and extended graphic modules.

CrabEmu is a video game console emulator for Mac OS X, Sega Dreamcast, and various other *nix-like targets. Currently, development is focused upon the 8-bit consoles built by Sega, with support for the Sega Master System, Game Gear, SG-1000 and ColecoVision. Initial support for the NES is also available.

CuteMupen is a graphical (GUI based on Qt library) front-end for the cross-platform Mupen64Plus N64 emulator.

GXemul is a full-system computer emulator, emulating processors (ARM, MIPS, M88K, PowerPC, and SuperH) and surrounding peripherals, in some cases well enough to let unmodified guest operating systems run as if they were running on real hardware.

The Linux null-modem emulator (tty0tty) is a kernel-module virtual serial port driver for Linux. This create virtual tty ports pairs and use any pair to connect one tty serial port based application to another. There are a version using pseudo-terminal (UNIX 98 style).

A Zilog Z80 simulator, debugger and profiler tailored for ZX Spectrum development (but generic enough to be used with other platforms)

ArduSim provides API level simulation of an Arduino. Arduino sketches can be run and debugged on PC with no modification. ArduGate is a sub-project of ArduSim. The agent sketch is shared.

BT-Sim is a BlueTooth simulator on a HCI level. The project alows to develop and test BT applications without using real BT hardware. It works in particular with PalmSource's Palm OS Simulator.

Basilisk II is a free, portable, Open Source 68k Mac emulator.

A neogeo emulator for linux. Gngeo is portable and run successfully on many posix system. It use the libSDL for video/input and sound handling.

NESRomTool is a command-line based utility for extraction and injection of Nintendo ROM data from .nes files. It currently works with program and sprite data and can preview individual sprites in the terminal window.

PoppyChain is a set of BIN/CUE<->VCD conversion tools for Linux/BSD: * poppy-merge -- joins several binary tracks, referenced by CUE-file, into single BIN-file; * poppy-encode -- converts BIN/CUE disc images to VCD format, used by the POPS/POPSTARTER PSone emulator for PlayStation 2; * poppy-decode -- converts VCD images back to BIN/CUE format.

v2lin library is selected VxWorks APIs implementation for Linux. Originally, v2lin started as a fork of outdated legacy2linux/v2linux. Currently almost all source code is completely rewritten and redesigned. v2lin supports recent POSIX-compliant glibc. I

WinDS is a Reimplementation of the OS Windows(R) XP(R) on the Platform Nintendo DS. Since i started coding Apps for the NDS, my goal was to write a program, called WinDS, which does (nearly) the same as the real appy by Microsoft. In contrast to other little NDS-Operating Systems, just like Woopsi etc. you can code your own Application in Lua for WinDS: just copy the Code onto the FAT-Disk and execute it from within WinDS! This is what makes WinDS so unique. The New Beta 0.95 is out, it features - 52 Classes that are already available within Lua - 25 different types of user interface classes - 8 different predefined dialogs which makes it the perfect GUI sandbox for DS. PS: More time without update means: next update will have even more improvements, as i am still developing ;)
