... Red" comes from our team name, the Red Team. Since the competition dictated a small team size, our professor split the class and gave each group a color. We liked the name "Code Red" and chose it to represent our team and school's color (UMass' official color is Maroon.) Only later did we realize that "Code Red" was the name of an unrelated computer worm from 2001. -

Ever had the experience of a 8 bit system, having max. 64k memory, using assembler to write effective small programs? This system is an experimental 8 bit, 16 color computer, with a processer similar to Z80, that (on my laptop using linux with NO opengl support) achieves up to 1.2 Million instructions per second and 50 Hz. screen refresh rate. This project aims at PC emulation of a Renault car CD changer. With a small hardware interface, a carPC can then talk to the head unit, activate its SPDIF input, understand commands and send information back to the display.
