Open Source BSD Ecosystem Sciences Software

Software for sustainability assessment, highly modular; initially focused on Life Cycle Assessments.

An easy to use application to design your kitchen garden or your house farm. Helps you plan your plants ( vegetables, fruit trees, herbs, flowers ) so that it respects the rules of crop rotation and companion planting. Based on square foot gardening. Requires Java 8.

Biosphere3D targets interactive landscape rendering based on a virtual globe. It supports DEM, satellite and aerial images, 3D models (Collada), 3D plant models, and Shapefiles. Biosphere3D was initially developed by the landscape visualization group of the Zuse Institute Berlin by Malte Clasen and is now developed further by Lenné3D GmbH. For more information about the used concepts have a look at the thesis of Malte Clasen: Towards Interactive Landscape Visualization Doctoral Thesis published 2011 via Technische Universität Berlin https://doi.org/10.14279/depositonce-3005

The PAMGUARD project develops software to help detect, locate and classify marine mammals using Passive Acoustic Monitoring. This project is being migrated to github at https://github.com/PAMGuard. Please go there for the latest updates. thank you sourceforge for hosting us for all these years.

MetaMaster is a Java-based desktop application for defining, managing and manipulating metadata associated with a collection of data files or datasets (both locally and on the network) which are bundled together into "data packages". ANDS-funded

SeaBreeze is a device driver library that provides an interface to select Ocean Optics spectrometers. It is written in C/C++ and builds and runs on Windows (XP/7/8), MacOSX, and Linux (x86/x64/ARM).

Cultivation is a game about the interactions within a gardening community. The resources needed for genetic propagation are tight, and relations can become tense. Cultivation explores self-interest, the common good, conflict, and compromise.

A library of R packages for use in fisheries modelling, including the evaluation of management strategies and stock assessment.

ChesROMS is developing a ROMS model of the Chesapeake Bay to help in the prediction of Harmful Algal Blooms. We hope to catalyze a new method of community modeling with involvement beyond the core researchers of the ChesROMS project.

This is a PDF-File which contains an Exposé about astronomical influences to earth's climate. The original language of the text is german.

birdweights is a a package of scripts to analyze data from an automated system for the measurement of mass and identification of birds at perches.

CRAFTY is a large-scale ABM of land use change. It has been designed to allow efficient but powerful simulation of a wide range of land uses and the goods and services they produce. It is fully open-source and can be used without the need for any programming.

DLESE (Digital Library for Earth System Education) is a community-supported digital library dedicated to the collection, enhancement, and distribution of materials that facilitate learning about the Earth. Sponsored by the US National Science Foundation.

HydroSed2D is a two-dimensional numerical model for hydrodynamics and sediment transport on unstructured mesh.

The Life Cycle Assessment Spreadsheet allows you to calculate carbon footprints and other environmental impacts for given product systems. Use requires basic skills in LCA and matrix algebra, but rewards effort with professional analytical tools.

PyPak is a Python library for communication with Campbell Scientific dataloggers through the PakBus interface over TCP/IP or serial lines.

An isometric game with C++ and SDL. Your beings should survive fighting with other beings, reproducting to make a massive attack and eating. But sometimes you will have to eat some of your own live beings so that others could stay alive, well it's life.

VLE is a multi-modeling and simulation environment to study complex dynamic systems. VLE is based on the discrete event specification DEVS. and it implements the DSDE formalism (A merge of Dynamic Structure DEVS, DSDEVS, with Parallel DEVS, PDEVS). VLE provides a complete set of C++ libraries, called VFL (VLE Foundation Libraries), to develop DEVS models, to gets results of simulations, to launch simulation on cluster. The models can be developed with the DEVS formalism or with the classical mathematical formalism: Ordinary Differential Equation with Euler, Range-Kutta or QSS integrator, Finite state automaton (FDDEVS, UML State chart, Hybrid Petri net). The VLE environment provides an IDE to develop C++ models, DEVS coupled models. VLE have also three ports to use the VFL with Python, Java and R programming languages.

The aim of the project is create a learning tools for students. If children become aware of consumption, perhaps they will be able to influence and affect a larger system of the school. Within smart energies, the goal of the monitoring system is the control and management, even remotely, ofconsumption and production of energy users are characterized by complex energy systems. Requires DOG - The DOG Operating Ground

BETR-Research (BETRS) is a modelling framework to create spatially resolved multimedia models for the environmental fate- and transport of chemical contaminants. It is intended to serve the research community and can be used as a teaching tool.

BioMa is a specimen based Biodiversity database Manager. It is designed to store, organize, and manipulate biodiversity-related scientific data, either for the purposes of museums, scientific collections, or research projects.

Program performs bird species recognition by their voices. In early stage of development but working well with some popular species and good samples quality.
