...This design eliminates the need for separate experimental plots for each tree density. The difficulties with Nelder plot design is their uncommon layout and complex parameterization (Parrott et al. 2012). This computer-aided tool for designing the Nelder plot can be very useful for the practical implementation of this experimental design.\r\n\r\nReferences\r\nNelder JA (1962) New kinds of systematic designs for spacing experiments. Artificial life simulation where computer programs (virtual organisms or VOs for short) compete on a grid for computer time. May the most intelligent VO win!

A cross-platform Java program to turn a simple Geiger counter into the equivalent of a state-of-the art digital model, plus some – using your laptop computer.

MIMES is a suite of dynamic ecological economic computer models specifically aimed at integrating our understanding of ecosystem functioning, ecosystem services, and human well-being across a range of spatial scales.

IBIS - Interactive Biodiversity Informatics Software - is software to identify species or other taxa. Intended users range from school children or citizen scientists to ecologists or taxonomists. The identification keys can be embedded in CMS or Wiki

EXPR is a software package for the recording and analysis of animal behaviour. Recording is done by pressing particular keyboard keys on the computer. The software then saves the sequence and timing of behaviours. Note that the DOS (1995: https://sourceforge.net/projects/expr/files/expr/fb-port-expr-00-1995/EXPR-binary-DOS-0.0.1995.tar.gz/download) version is currently the only fully functional and is recommended for use. On modern computers, DOS software can run in DOSBOX (https://www.dosbox.com/).
