This is the development project of an aspect oriented middleware platform shared between KULeuven, Belgium and the University of Lancaster, UK. It promotes reseach on structuring middleware with aspects.

omniifr is an Interface Repository for omniORB, a CORBA Object Request Broker for C++ and Python. The CORBA Interface Repository stores information about the types and interfaces used in a CORBA system, so they may be queried dynamically at run-time.

omuscd is an User Space Cluster Daemon for use with the openMosix 2.6 kernel extension for single-system image clustering. The daemon provides process migration management and communication between networked computers to construct a cluster.

sandboss is a messaging framework generator that creates complete communications, persistency, UI forms, configuration management, and runtime control infrastructure from struct and node declarations. Full generator support in the dependency-aware build

osESB is a free, open source Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) designed to run on a Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) application server.

Italian version of the game Hearts. The game use a central server for chat and authentication; the table is p2p among players. The game supports n-1 crashes of the playing peers.

A data parallel scientific programming model. Compiles efficiently to different platforms like distributed memory (MPI), shared memory multi-processor (pthreads), Cell BE processor, Nvidia Cuda, SIMD vectorization (SSE, Altivec), and sequential C++ code.

PART is a light-weight middleware for developing pervasive applications (specifically games) that run on a range of different devices (PCs, mobile phones, microcontrollers) in a heterogeneous network environment.

pureIRCd is an IRC Server written C (though throughout the years i've used various programming languages, including VB6, VB.net C#, and am now stuck with C) to provide a fresh IRC (RFC1459) implementation and avoid the clutter of existing solutions.

PyDSH is a remote administration tool, consisting of pydsh and pydcp. Pydsh allows you to run a command on multiple hosts in parallel over RSH, SSH or Telnet, OR manage your SSH public keys. The pydcp command allows copying files to/from multiple hosts.

PyTask is a job queue written in python using XMLRPC. Its target is to queue the heavy jobs that a application server may need, heavy reports, background jobs where is not so easy ( apache/php ), mailings without saturing the queues of a smtp server...

The rmiBlackJack is a client/server game developed in java, using RMI as the comunication layer. The game suports at most 7 players, the clients are updated every time someone takes an action by the use of RMI callbacks.

sharq is a batch-queueing system that allows for multiple users to make effective use of a beowulf cluster. sharq allows for prioritization based on a user's funding, and also based on the size of the job. sharq is very light-weight and easy to learn.

A parallel system simulator kernel that support ultra-large scale computer system simulation.

Slimgrid is a Java library for grid computations which is lighter than other ones (JPPF, Hadoop, ...). The main design goals are: minimalism, simplicity, pervasiveness. If you need to grab something which does not require you to comprehend massive and complex API's, do exhaustive configurations and installations, is robust and reliable, uses just one port for all management and communication, then SlimGrid is the right choice. The SlimGrid is built on top of the Apache's ZooKeeper library for coordination of distributed systems and Apache Curator awesome API simplification. Slimgrid allows also one-way synchronization of grid application folders (from the server to workers). This is useful when the grid app has been updated. Slimgrid is very robust. One of his successful mission was to perform more than 140.000 tasks in the grid with 40+ computers located in three different countries (Norway, Germany, Canada) and behind various firewalls (University labs).

SMUT NIO is Scalable Multi User Technology based on Java NIO. This technology abstracts the client server communication and allows the user to create multi user applications concentrating on business logic rather than server communications.
