    Gantry Framework

    Gantry Framework

    Next Generation Template / Theme Framework

    Develop CMS themes quickly and efficiently while providing flexibility and ease of use for end-users. Gantry was born when the RocketTheme development team wanted to consolidate our extensive set of custom Grav, Joomla and WordPress theme functionality into a simple, easy-to-use framework. Yes, that’s right! Gantry 5 has a powerful and easy-to-use Layout Manager that ensures controlling the layout is a highly visual experience. When we started the Gantry 5 project, we wanted to think past the concept of Gantry as a framework. We wanted to create something so versatile and powerful, that it could stand on its own as a platform, virtually independent of a CMS in concept and implementation. Utilizing a dual MIT & GPL license, Gantry is free to use pretty much anywhere! Designed from the ground-up with performance and efficiency in mind. Configure and structure your menu hierarchy with our new Menu editor.

    Minify

    Minify

    Go minifiers for web formats

    Minify is a minifier package written in Go. It provides HTML5, CSS3, JS, JSON, SVG and XML minifiers and an interface to implement any other minifier. Minification is the process of removing bytes from a file (such as whitespace) without changing its output and therefore shrinking its size and speeding up transmission over the internet and possibly parsing. The implemented minifiers are designed for high performance. The core functionality associates mime-types with minification functions, allowing embedded resources (like CSS or JS within HTML files) to be minified as well. Users can add new implementations that are triggered based on a mime-type (or pattern) or redirect to an external command (like ClosureCompiler, UglifyCSS,). Minifiers or bindings to minifiers exist in almost all programming languages. Some implementations are merely using several regular expressions to trim whitespace and comments.

    A dead simple static HOMepage for your servER to keep your services on hand, from a simple yaml configuration file. It's meant to be served by an HTTP server, it will not work if you open the index.html directly over file:// protocol. Title, icons, links, colors, and services can be configured in the config.yml file (located in /assets directory once built, or in the public/assets directory in development mode), using yaml format. null value or missing keys will be ignored and value from the config.yml will be used if available. Empty values (either in config.yml or the endpoint data) will hide the element.

    Jekyll Docs Theme

    Jekyll Docs Theme

    A mediocre Jekyll theme for writing documentation websites

    A Jekyll theme inspired by Bootstrap's official documentation theme from a few years back. This theme started off by stealing all of Bootstrap Docs' CSS and being used in mistic100's theme. This theme has since be rewritten from scratch and remains solely inspired by the original design. Jekyll Readme Index

    Jekyll Readme Index

    A Jekyll plugin to render a project's README as the site's index

    A Jekyll plugin to render a project's README as the site's index. Let's say you have a GitHub repository with a README.md file, that you'd like to use as the index (main page) for a GitHub Pages site. You could rename the file to index.md, but then it wouldn't render on GitHub.com. You could add YAML front matter with permalink: / to the README, but why force a human to do what Jekyll can automate? If you have a readme file, and your site doesn't otherwise have an index file, this plugin instructs Jekyll to use the readme as the site's index. That's it, no more, no less.

    Jekyll theme: Adam Blog 2.0

    Jekyll theme: Adam Blog 2.0

    The Minimum Viable Model website and Jekyll theme

    Adam Blog 2.0 is a Jekyll theme that was built to be 100% compatible with GitHub Pages. If you are unfamiliar with GitHub Pages, you can check out their documentation for more information. Jonathan McGlone's guide on creating and hosting a personal site on GitHub is also a good resource. Jekyll is a simple, blog-aware, static site generator for personal, project, or organization sites. Basically, Jekyll takes your page content along with template files and produces a complete website. The beauty of hosting your website on GitHub is that you don't have to actually have Jekyll installed on your computer. Everything can be done through the GitHub code editor, with minimal knowledge of how to use Jekyll or the command line. All you have to do is add your posts to the _posts directory and edit the _config.yml file to change the site settings. With some rudimentary knowledge of HTML and CSS, you can even modify the site to your liking.

    Jekyll::Gzip

    Jekyll::Gzip

    Generate gzipped assets and files for your Jekyll site at build time

    Generate gzipped assets and files for your Jekyll site at build time. Performance in web applications is important. You know that, which is why you have created a static site using Jekyll. But you want a bit more performance. You're serving your assets and files gzipped, but you're making your webserver do it? Why not just generate those gzip files at build time? And with the maximum compression too? Jekyll::Gzip does just that. Add the gem to your Jekyll application and when you build your site it will generate gzip files for all text based files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc). Zlib's gzipping capabilities don't quite squeeze all the compression out of our files that we could want. If you want a slower but better compression algorithm, check out Jekyll::Zopfli. Zopfli is about the best compression we can get out of the gzip format, but there's more! Brotli is a relatively new compression format that is now supported by many browsers and can produce even smaller files.

    Jekyll::Typogrify

    Jekyll::Typogrify

    A Jekyll plugin that improves the typography of your Liquid templates

    Improves typography on your Jekyll site using typogruby, titlecase, and some other useful functions. Converts an ampersand (ex. &) converts a & surrounded by optional whitespace or a non-breaking space to the HTML entity and surrounds it in a span with a styled class. Surrounds two or more consecutive capital letters, perhaps with interspersed digits and periods in a span with a styled class. Typogruby cap module doesn't support having hyphens so there is a custom module. Converts special characters (excluding HTML tags) to HTML entities. Encloses initial single or double quotes, or their entities (optionally preceded by a block element and perhaps an inline element) with a span that can be styled. Applies smartpants to a given piece of text. Replaces space(s) before the last word (or tag before the last word) before an optional closing element (a, em, span, strong) before a closing tag (p, h[1-6], li, dt, dd) or the end of the string.

    WORDPRESS/GULP STARTER KIT

    WORDPRESS/GULP STARTER KIT

    A starter kit for developing WordPress themes with Gulp

    Designing WordPress themes the old-fashioned way is time-consuming and error-prone. Automating the build process allows us to integrate best practices into our workflow while saving time. This project is a starter kit for developing highly optimized WordPress themes with Gulp, npm, and Sass, among other tools. This is not meant to be a starter theme or framework (although I have included a minimum viable theme to demonstrate some of the possibilities). It is, instead, a kind of project scaffolding and example workflow for modern and efficient WordPress theme development. The latest version of this starter kit features a modular Gulp file design inspired by Dan Tello's excellent gulp-starter. Configuration is isolated from the tasks themselves to make it easier to change paths and modify settings. This approach is slightly more complicated than what I originally outlined on my blog but also far more powerful.

    WP Bootstrap Navwalker

    WP Bootstrap Navwalker

    Custom WordPress nav walker class to implement the Twitter Bootstrap

    A custom Wordpress walker to implement the Twitter Bootstrap dropdown navigation using the WordPress built-in menu manager. This is a utility class that is intended to format your WordPress theme menu with the correct syntax and CSS classes to utilize the Bootstrap dropdown navigation. It does not include the required Bootstrap JS and CSS files, you will have to include them manually. Between version 3 and version 4 of the walker there have been significant changes to the codebase. Version 4 of the walker is built to work with Bootstrap 4 and has not been tested for backward compatibility with Bootstrap 3. This walker is fully compliant with all Theme Review guidelines for wordpress.org theme submission. It requires no modification to be compliant but you can optionally replace the wp-bootstrap-navwalker text domain (which appears twice in the fallback function) with the text domain of your theme.
