    DeepSpeed MII

    DeepSpeed MII

MII makes low-latency and high-throughput inference possible

MII makes low-latency and high-throughput inference possible, powered by DeepSpeed. The Deep Learning (DL) open-source community has seen tremendous growth in the last few months. Incredibly powerful text generation models such as the Bloom 176B, or image generation model such as Stable Diffusion are now available to anyone with access to a handful or even a single GPU through platforms such as Hugging Face. While open-sourcing has democratized access to AI capabilities, their application is still restricted by two critical factors: inference latency and cost. DeepSpeed-MII is a new open-source python library from DeepSpeed, aimed towards making low-latency, low-cost inference of powerful models not only feasible but also easily accessible. MII offers access to the highly optimized implementation of thousands of widely used DL models. MII-supported models achieve significantly lower latency and cost compared to their original implementation.

    Hivemind

    Hivemind

Decentralized deep learning in PyTorch. Built to train models

Hivemind is a PyTorch library for decentralized deep learning across the Internet. Its intended usage is training one large model on hundreds of computers from different universities, companies, and volunteers. Distributed training without a master node: Distributed Hash Table allows connecting computers in a decentralized network. Fault-tolerant backpropagation: forward and backward passes succeed even if some nodes are unresponsive or take too long to respond. Decentralized parameter averaging: iteratively aggregate updates from multiple workers without the need to synchronize across the entire network. Train neural networks of arbitrary size: parts of their layers are distributed across the participants with the Decentralized Mixture-of-Experts. If you have succesfully trained a model or created a downstream repository with the help of our library, feel free to submit a pull request that adds your project to the list.

    Intel neon

    Intel neon

Intel® Nervana™ reference deep learning framework

neon is Intel's reference deep learning framework committed to best performance on all hardware. Designed for ease of use and extensibility. See the new features in our latest release. We want to highlight that neon v2.0.0+ has been optimized for much better performance on CPUs by enabling Intel Math Kernel Library (MKL). The DNN (Deep Neural Networks) component of MKL that is used by neon is provided free of charge and downloaded automatically as part of the neon installation. The gpu backend is selected by default, so the above command is equivalent to if a compatible GPU resource is found on the system. The Intel Math Kernel Library takes advantages of the parallelization and vectorization capabilities of Intel Xeon and Xeon Phi systems. When hyperthreading is enabled on the system, we recommend the following KMP_AFFINITY setting to make sure parallel threads are 1:1 mapped to the available physical cores.

    The Hypersim Dataset

    The Hypersim Dataset

Photorealistic Synthetic Dataset for Holistic Indoor Scene

Hypersim is a large-scale, photorealistic synthetic dataset and tooling suite for indoor scene understanding research. It provides richly annotated renderings—RGB, depth, surface normals, instance and semantic segmentations, and material/lighting metadata—produced from high-fidelity virtual environments. The dataset spans diverse furniture layouts, room types, and camera trajectories, enabling robust training for geometry, segmentation, and SLAM-adjacent tasks. Rendering pipelines and utilities allow researchers to reproduce sequences, generate novel views, or extract task-specific supervision. Because the data are perfectly labeled and controllable, Hypersim is well suited for pretraining and for studying domain transfer to real imagery. The repository acts as both a dataset index and a set of scripts for downloading, managing, and evaluating on standardized splits.

    Colossal-AI

    Colossal-AI

Making large AI models cheaper, faster and more accessible

The Transformer architecture has improved the performance of deep learning models in domains such as Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing. Together with better performance come larger model sizes. This imposes challenges to the memory wall of the current accelerator hardware such as GPU. It is never ideal to train large models such as Vision Transformer, BERT, and GPT on a single GPU or a single machine. There is an urgent demand to train models in a distributed environment. However, distributed training, especially model parallelism, often requires domain expertise in computer systems and architecture. It remains a challenge for AI researchers to implement complex distributed training solutions for their models. Colossal-AI provides a collection of parallel components for you. We aim to support you to write your distributed deep learning models just like how you write your model on your laptop.

    GPT-NeoX

    GPT-NeoX

Implementation of model parallel autoregressive transformers on GPUs

This repository records EleutherAI's library for training large-scale language models on GPUs. Our current framework is based on NVIDIA's Megatron Language Model and has been augmented with techniques from DeepSpeed as well as some novel optimizations. We aim to make this repo a centralized and accessible place to gather techniques for training large-scale autoregressive language models, and accelerate research into large-scale training. For those looking for a TPU-centric codebase, we recommend Mesh Transformer JAX. If you are not looking to train models with billions of parameters from scratch, this is likely the wrong library to use. For generic inference needs, we recommend you use the Hugging Face transformers library instead which supports GPT-NeoX models.

    Luminal

    Luminal

Deep learning at the speed of light

Luminal is a framework designed to accelerate and simplify the development of systems-level data applications by using a typed, functional, and streaming-first approach. Instead of treating data processing as a series of ad-hoc scripts, Luminal models transformations as strongly typed building blocks that can be composed into reliable, scalable pipelines. The project emphasizes correctness and performance by requiring explicit types for the data flowing through transformations, reducing runtime surprises and allowing for highly optimized execution. It is particularly well-suited for data engineering workflows where large datasets must be processed incrementally, efficiently, and deterministically. The framework also includes a runtime capable of executing pipelines across multiple backends, making it flexible in cloud and local environments.

    Requests for Research

A living collection of deep learning problems

Requests for Research is an OpenAI repository that collects and organizes open research ideas in artificial intelligence. It is structured as a curated list of project proposals, challenges, and exploratory directions suggested by OpenAI researchers for the broader community. Each request highlights a specific problem area, often with context, motivation, and possible approaches, serving as inspiration for independent researchers, students, and practitioners. The repository is intended to foster collaboration and accelerate progress by sharing promising questions that OpenAI itself may not have the resources to fully pursue. While the ideas are not guaranteed to be unique or unexplored, they reflect areas OpenAI believes would benefit from more investigation. The project functions as a living document of research directions rather than a codebase, making it an accessible entry point for those looking to contribute to the advancement of AI.
