Azrar is a user-friendly tool for the encryption/decryption of single files - preferably compressed archives - addressing long-term data secrecy. Thus, Azrar provides the possibility to use webspace for secure data transfer between two communication/transfer partners (encryption only, network transfer not yet included in current version). A program to generate random reciprocal bigram tables
A command-line program to encrypt/decrypt a message using a random reciprocal bigram table and write a bigram table to a text file. Executing the program without any command-line arguments starts bigram in message encryption/decryption mode. The program prompts for a password or passphrase and a message to encrypt/ decrypt. After the message is entered the ciphertext is displayed. Executing the program with command-line arguments causes bigram to generate a random bigram table to print to screen or save to disk depending on whether the -f filename argument was given. If the -p passphrase argument is given a specific table is generated and is repeatable each time the same passphrase is given. approach to encryption and decryption involves two strings. The first is an encryption / decryption string which we will allow to be up to 128 lower case alphabetical characters in length. The second string is a line of text from a file that is to be encrypted or decrypted. the basic strategy for encrypting data is based on mapping alphabetical characters to specific values, then doing some simple mathematical operations to create a new value.

Compare Backup Drive Hashes
A spreadsheet to aid in detecting ransomware-corrupted files
This project offers an Excel spreadsheet, available for download through the Files tab (above). The spreadsheet allows the user to compare two sets of file hashes, such as the hashes for files on two different data drives. The spreadsheet's Instructions tab provides step-by-step guidance through that comparison process. The purpose of the file hash comparison is to identify files whose contents have changed. For example, the files on an up-to-date data drive may be compared against the files previously found on that data drive, or on a backup drive. Identifying changed files may be useful as a precaution against ransomware. The Support tab (above) links to a blog post discussing uses of the spreadsheet for that purpose.
