    Architecture as a code

    Architecture as a code

Visualize, collaborate, and evolve the software architecture

Architecture as a code is an open-source modeling language and toolkit that enables software teams to describe, visualize, collaborate on, and maintain software architecture as code. Inspired by the C4 Model and other architectural DSLs, LikeC4 lets you define your system’s structure in a textual DSL and then automatically generate consistent diagrams that reflect that design, ensuring that architecture documentation stays in sync with source code changes. The project includes command-line tooling, IDE integrations, live preview servers, and diagram exporters, letting developers instantly see architectural diagrams update as the model evolves. By treating architecture as code, teams benefit from version control, live collaboration, consistency across diagrams, and the ability to treat architectural change with the same tooling and workflows used for code.

    AutoAni

    AutoAni

    Compilation-free adaptive swf visualization template

AutoAni is a compilation-free adaptive visualization template designed for creating animated bar chart races and similar time-based visualizations using Flash. It focuses on ease of use for beginners by removing the need to install Flash or compile code—users simply prepare their data and images, place them in the same directory, and open the provided SWF file with any compatible player. The template comes with built-in Source Han Sans fonts, ensuring consistent text rendering without requiring users to install additional fonts. It supports smooth and adaptive animation with variable and uniform speed algorithms, making transitions between data states visually clear and accurate. Configuration is handled through simple CSV files, allowing users to adjust layout, speed, positioning, and formatting without editing the source code directly. AutoAni includes modules such as champion bars and champion portraits, with more features planned.

    Britecharts

    Britecharts

Composable Charting Library based on reusable D3.js components

Britecharts is a client-side reusable Charting Library based on D3.js v5 that offers easy and intuitive use of charts and components that can be composed together to create amazing visualizations. Britecharts components have been written in ES2016 with a Test Driven methodology, so they are fully tested, and we are committed to keeping them that way. The typical use of Britecharts involves creating a chart using its simple API, then rendering it on a container that has previously had data applied to it. All the components expose some common API methods like width, height, and margin. Additionally, each chart or component can expose specific methods you can find in the documentation. Britecharts components are distributed in UMD modules, each one exposing a D3.js component written with the Reusable API pattern. To use any of the Britecharts modules, you will need to require the chart in your JS file using AMD/CommonJS modules or adding a script tag with the src pointing to the file.

    Chokidar

    Chokidar

Minimal and efficient cross-platform file watching library

Chokidar is a solution for all the users of Node.js fs.watch who are tired of it not reporting filenames on MacOS and events at all when using editors like Sublime on MacOS. Node.js fs.watch often reports events twice, emits most changes as rename, and it does not provide an easy way to recursively watch file trees nor supports recursive watching on Linux. Same as with Node.js fs.watchFile. Therefore, Chokidar resolves these problems. Initially made for Brunch (an ultra-swift web app build tool), it is now used in Microsoft's Visual Studio Code, gulp, karma, PM2, browserify, webpack, BrowserSync, and many others. It has proven itself in production environments. Chokidar does still rely on the Node.js core fs module, but when using fs.watch and fs.watchFile for watching, it normalizes the events it receives, often checking for truth by getting file stats and/or dir contents.

    DIY Split-Flap Display

    DIY Split-Flap Display

    DIY split-flap display

This is a work in progress split-flap display. Each module can flip between 40 unique characters: letters, numbers, and a few symbols. Multiple modules fit perfectly alongside each other to build bigger displays. The primary design goal was to make something that's possible to fabricate at home in small or single quantities and can be customized and built by an intermediate hobbyist at a reasonable price. This meant using widely available materials and avoiding any tooling with a high upfront cost. Following that philosophy, the design uses store-bought vinyl stickers for the letters, is driven by an ubiquitous and cheap 28BYJ-48 stepper motor, and uses common PVC ID badge cards cut to shape for the flaps (though custom die-cut flaps are also available). Even the enclosure, spool, and gears, which are all made from laser-cut MDF, can be easily ordered online.

    Data Formulator

    Data Formulator

    Create rich visualizations with AI

To create rich visualizations, data analysts often need to iterate back and forth among data processing and chart specification to achieve their goals. To achieve this, analysts need not only proficiency in data transformation and visualization tools but also efforts to manage the branching history consisting of many different versions of data and charts. Recent LLM-powered AI systems have greatly improved visualization authoring experiences, for example by mitigating manual data transformation barriers via LLMs' code generation ability. However, these systems do not work well for iterative visualization authoring, because they often require analysts to provide, in a single turn, a text-only prompt that fully describes the complex visualization task to be performed, which is unrealistic to both users and models in many cases. In this paper, we present Data Formulator 2, an LLM-powered visualization system to address these challenges.

    DynamicHMC

    DynamicHMC

Implementation of robust dynamic Hamiltonian Monte Carlo methods

Implementation of robust dynamic Hamiltonian Monte Carlo methods in Julia. In contrast to frameworks that utilize a directed acyclic graph to build a posterior for a Bayesian model from small components, this package requires that you code a log-density function of the posterior in Julia. Derivatives can be provided manually, or using automatic differentiation. Consequently, this package requires that the user is comfortable with the basics of the theory of Bayesian inference, to the extent of coding a (log) posterior density in Julia. This approach allows the use of standard tools like profiling and benchmarking to optimize its performance.

    Flame Graphs

    Flame Graphs

    Stack trace visualizer

Flame graphs are a visualization of profiled software, allowing the most frequent code-paths to be identified quickly and accurately. They can be generated using my open source programs, which create interactive SVGs. See the Updates section for other implementations. Recently I've been helping with d3-flame-graph. The x-axis shows the stack profile population, sorted alphabetically (it is not the passage of time), and the y-axis shows stack depth, counting from zero at the bottom. Each rectangle represents a stack frame. The wider a frame is is, the more often it was present in the stacks. The top edge shows what is on-CPU, and beneath it is its ancestry. The colors are usually not significant, picked randomly to differentiate frames. Flame charts were first added by Google Chrome's WebKit Web Inspector (bug). While inspired by flame graphs, flame charts put the passage of time on the x-axis instead of the alphabet.

    FossFLOW

    FossFLOW

    Make beautiful isometric infrastructure diagrams

FossFLOW is an open-source Progressive Web App for creating visually rich isometric infrastructure and network diagrams directly in the browser. Built with React and the Isoflow library, the application provides a specialized environment for producing 2.5D technical diagrams that are especially useful for DevOps and architecture documentation. The project is structured as a monorepo containing both a reusable React component library and the full web application wrapper. Because it runs fully client-side with offline support, users can design diagrams without sending data to external servers. FossFLOW focuses on usability through drag-and-drop components, connector tools, and automatic saving capabilities. Overall, it serves engineers and technical teams who want a modern, open alternative to traditional diagramming tools with a strong visual infrastructure focus.
