    asar

    asar

Simple extensive tar-like archive format with indexing

Asar uses Pickle to safely serialize binary value to file, there is also a node.js binding of Pickle class. The header_size and header are serialized with Pickle class, and header_size's Pickle object is 8 bytes. offset and size record the information to read the file from the archive, the offset starts from 0 so you have to manually add the size of header_size and header to the offset to get the real offset of the file.

    Random Color

    Random Color

A tiny script for generating attractive colors

A color generator for JavaScript. There are lots of clever one-liners for generating random colors. Unfortunately, this code naturally produces murky greys, browns and greens. randomColor generates attractive colors by default. More specifically, randomColor produces bright colors with a reasonably high saturation. This makes randomColor particularly useful for data visualizations and generative art. HTMLMinifier

    HTMLMinifier

    Javascript-based HTML compressor/minifier (with Node.js support)

HTMLMinifier is a highly configurable, well-tested, JavaScript-based HTML minifier. Minifier options like sortAttributes and sortClassName won't impact the plain-text size of the output. However, they form long repetitive chains of characters that should improve compression ratio of gzip used in HTTP compression. SVG tags are automatically recognized, and when they are minified, both case-sensitivity and closing slashes are preserved, regardless of the minification settings used for the rest...

    Extended Memory Semantics (EMS)

    Extended Memory Semantics (EMS)

Persistent shared object memory and parallelism for Node.js and Python

EMS makes possible persistent shared memory parallelism between Node.js, Python, and C/C++. Extended Memory Semantics (EMS) unifies synchronization and storage primitives to address several challenges of parallel programming. A modern multi-core server has 16-32 cores and nearly 1TB of memory, equivalent to an entire rack of systems from a few years ago. As a consequence, jobs formerly requiring a Map-Reduce cluster can now be performed entirely in shared memory on a single server without using distributed programming.
