A generic hierarchical file format. BHM can be seen as the binary equivalent of XML. It allows flexible hierarchies of any type of data, in a platform-independent way. BHM however trades XML's readability for compactness and speed of processing.
libwbxml is a library to encode and decode WBXML (WAP BinaryXML). It was migrated to GitHub. The pages on Sourceforge are only available for historical reasons as it was used in the past for development and releasing.
XDBM is an XQuery implementation on the W3C's EXI binaryXML format.
XDBM version 2 will be an XQuery implementation that uses EXIP to handle binaryXML in the EXI format adopted by the W3C. It will, like EXIP, aim to be as small as possible so that it runs well on resource constrained devices. It is still in the project design stage.
OGDL is a structured format for representing graphs of information, alternative to XML. Its grammar is very simple allowing for compact parsers. The text version is easily readable; the binary version is used for storage and interprocess communication.

This is a set of command line tools that are useful for editing image metadata. Currently it contains the following tools:
* image2xml
* xml2image
* mpo2jps
Currently supported file formats are:
* jpeg (jfif or exif)
* mpo
* jps.
These tools are mostly useful for editing metadata.
image2xml can also generate a .h header file with the offsets of different metadata in the binary file.
This could be used in small devices that generate jpeg/mpo/jps images where metadata construction...
A command line tool that converts a custom xml document (xsav) to a SPSS binary file (sav). It is often easy to generate xml files from software, and by using this tool a SPSS (computer tool for statistical analysis) binary file can easily be generated.
This software records Linux terminal sessions with util-linux "script" and converts the recorded binary file (with timing) to a human-readable XML file. This file can be replayed with the Javascript-HTML terminal that behaves as a real terminal.
Tpl makes it easy to serialize your C data using just a handful of API functions. The data is stored in its native binary form for maximum efficiency. C, Perl and XML supported. Data is portable across CPU types and OS's from Unix to Mac to Windows.

The BINXML library was create to fill the need for an efficient way to embed binary data inside xml files. It provides routines for encoding and decoding binary files into valid UTF-16 text files that can be embedded inside XML files.
A binary protocol, library, and utilities for serialization and manipulation of data. Designed to replace XML. Features: *Compact (not compressed) binary encoding. *Strongly-typed, using type definitions. *Platform independant
