...Clavirio follows that idea by teaching the keyboard row by row with the same 7-lesson progression for each row: index pair → middle pair → ring pair → pinky pair → reach pair → full row → row + Shift Each lesson introduces only 2 new keys and uses only characters from earlier lessons. The same progression is used for QWERTY, Dvorak, and Colemak, so the lesson structure stays consistent across layouts. -

...We are using the Digital Differential Analyzer (DDA) approach. The idea of drawing a simple line is well supported by just about every graphical framework. What is less sure is the ability to enumerate through a set of points so as to choose just which points we are interested in. LineDDA also graphically demonstrates support for Positive Slope, Negative Slope, Zero and No Slope. Source code included in archive / jar. -

This program, written by Stormy Mauldin, is a virtual version of the board. It is more modifiable than the physical board, so it allows for a more unique testing experience. -

Sight Reading Trainer
Scrolling notes in any key for any instrument
So you adjust the scrolling speed and time between new notes and then play each note before the application echos it back to you. It also scrolls guitar tablature, as can be seen in the video. The keyboard and guitar models are linked so that playing a note on the piano keyboard (clicking a key) causes the guitar neck to display all the locations of the same note on the guitar neck. -

...Hopefully kids will quickly learn these techniques and then use them to play some more advanced games. Currently, most of the games do not come with sound or instruction so the teacher/adult may need to demonstrate the game. The games are also up on kongregate.com where some of them use that system to track high scores, however, there is a lot more visual spam on that site. More levels and audio are planned for future updates. Open to suggestions for future games. Check out wudiware.com for some of the other projects, like brainstorm browser, which is more for an older audience. -
