SwingSane is a powerful, cross platform, open source Java front-end for using Scanner Access Now Easy (SANE) back-ends. The most powerful feature is its ability to query back-ends for scanner specific options which can be set by the user as a scanner profile. It also has support for authentication, mutlicast DNS discovery, simultaneous scan jobs, image transformation jobs (deskew, binarize, crop, etc), PDF and PNG output. It can also be integrated with your own Java application.

This is a tool that helps to print (from home and without using a photo booth software) photographs that conform to the biometric passport standards used worldwide.

The Picture Metadata Toolkit (PMT) provides a common object-oriented API to metadata associated with or stored in digital image files. PMT also allows metadata to be read or written in XML. Metadata definitions are expressed through XML Schema.

Snip screenshots and dock them so you can refer to them while working. Installer sets up a shortcut on desktop to run the program. Dock: This snipped image will be docked on a screen edge or as a floating popup. 3. Whatever be the size of the image, the dock will automatically adjust its size. When docked, no other program can encroach the space used by SnipDock, even if they are maximized. 4. You can zoom in or zoom out of the image by scrolling your mouse on the image. 5. Any image snipped will be automatically stored in your Pictures folder. So you could also use SnipDock just to snip screen and store the images. This program will help to make advise on adjusting the shooting EV value while you had assign interesting zones from your picture. It is an effort to carry the Zone System and principle of pre-view on digital camera color photography. Using this program, you should 1. capture a pre-view image first, 2. load it into program, 3. assign the brightest zone, darkest zone with as many interesting zones as you want then 4. push the "Calculate' button to see how many EV adjustment amount should used for a better result on your photography.

Simulate HDR is a plugin for The GIMP that creates two layers from a single image simulating an underexposed and a overexposed shots, creating a High Dynamic Range image. It can create a tone mapping layer to compress the color range of the image.
