Usual webcams run a server Tom remotely access images and videos. This often prevents the server from going to suspend. This tool listens on a configurable port on a GET request requesting a .jpg file. Up on such a request, the webcam is configured, activated, an image is captured, and the image is returned as a usual http reply. This enables the server to suspend and to wait for a WOL to resume.

Webcampak is a photography appliance. Used with DSLR or Compact cameras it can capture high resolution pictures, create timelapse videos and send those elements to remote servers. Extensively uses open source softwares (gphoto2, ImageMagick, ...)

Wraith is a screenshot comparison tool, created by developers at BBC News. Wraith uses a headless browser to create screenshots of webpages on different environments (or at different moments in time) and then creates a diff of the two images; the affected areas are highlighted in blue. There are two main modes for using Wraith, 'capture' mode and 'history' mode. Wraith has some built-in JavaScript and configuration file templates for you to get started with right away. If you wish to take screenshots of a component rather than the entire page, use casperjs and pass a selector along with your paths. You set the headless browser, diff mode, threshold, fuzz amount and screen widths.

This program will help to make advise on adjusting the shooting EV value while you had assign interesting zones from your picture. It is an effort to carry the Zone System and principle of pre-view on digital camera color photography. Using this program, you should 1. capture a pre-view image first, 2. load it into program, 3. assign the brightest zone, darkest zone with as many interesting zones as you want then 4. push the "Calculate' button to see how many EV adjustment amount should used for a better result on your photography.
