Toadflax
graphical front-end for editing/transposing abc music files
...It exists in two forms, Toadflax built using GTK and py_toadflax built using tkinter, the python window toolkit. It allows the user to load in abc music notation files and work on each one independently. The music is displayed on-screen, without needing to use a PostScript interpreter, making it a lightweight notation viewer. The Toadflax program uses a music renderer based on yaps, while py_toadflax uses the music renderer from the abcCairo project based on abcm2ps. The source can be hand-edited or transformed in various ways using an adaptation of the abc2abc program. Perhaps the most useful feature that this provides is transposition with the ability to instantly see the effect of a transposition. -

abcCairo is a project to create a Cairo backend for abcm2ps, enabling it to generate output in the formats supported by the Cairo library; PNG, SVG and PDF. abcm2ps is a command line program written by Jean-François Moine which converts abc music notation to music sheet in PostScript or SVG format. It is an extension of Michael Methfessel's abc2ps. This project takes out the PostScript commands to generate various musical symbols and instead replaces them with Cairo function calls that generate the same musical symbols.
