It automatically triangulates vector shapes, letting developers use familiar drawing APIs but get performance benefits of GPU rendering via Starling. I wrote the 1st ver while taking vector calculus and CAD programming classes c. '92. I was intrigued not only by the beauty of the math but also ray tracing curved metals. This is actually the 2nd ver, ported from MFC to gnome (with enhancements like optional GL) c. '00 with some help from David. ...You have to provide PortOpt (in text files or - if you use the api - using your own code) the variance/covariance matrix of the assets, their average returns and the agent risk preference. It returns the vector of assets' shares that composes the optimal portfolio.
