A cross-platform ANSI-BBS terminal designed to connect to remote BBSs via telnet, rlogin, or SSH. Supports ANSI music and the IBM charset when possible. Will run from a console, under X11 using XLib, or using SDL.

Qodem is a a terminal emulator that resembles the BBS-era Qmodem. Includes phonebook, scrollback, capture, X/Y/Zmodem, Kermit, ANSI (+ music) / Avatar / VT102 / Linux emulation, Unicode, and keyboard macros. Connects over serial, ssh, telnet, rlogin.

FMail is an opensource echo mail processor/tosser for Hudson and JAM message bases, released under the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE Version 3. Also included is a message base maintenance utility with a lot of special features. The Windows version can handle more areas than the old DOS version and is optimized for use with 32 & 64-bit versions of MS Windows. But there is also a preliminary Linux version available.

MBSE BBS is a fully FTN-capable ANSI BBS package including a mailer (ifcico clone), BinkP daemon, mail tosser, TIC processor, filefind, and other utilities allowing access via modem and the Internet using telnet, ssh, http and ftp. Contiki BBS is a tiny, little and text based bulletin board system (BBS) server for the Commodore 64 homecomputer and a compatible ethernet cartridge (e.g. RRnet, 64NIC+). It will also run in a VICE emulator with ethernet support enabled. The BBS itself can be accessed through a standard telnet connection. Despite a floppy disk drive and the ethernet cartridge no further addon hardware is required (for emulation use VICE with ethernet support).

DMBBS is a telnet BBS systems designed from scratch and written entirely in C. It is planned to support all the major features that a DOC like telnet BBS is expected to support, such as floors, rooms, chatrooms and eXpress Messages.

FUNterm is a serial port terminal program for Windows. It offers basic serial connection. Because FUNterm is written using basic Win32 calls, with no high-level libraries, it works under Linux using Wine. The serial driver can be used separately.
