    Back In Time

    Back In Time

An easy-to-use backup tool for GNU Linux using rsync in the back

Back In Time is an easy-to-use tool to backup files and folders. It runs on GNU Linux (not on Windows or OS X/macOS) and provides a command line tool backintime and a GUI backintime-qt both written in Python3. It uses rsync to take manual or scheduled snapshots and stores them locally or remotely through SSH. Each snapshot is in its own folder with copies of the original files, but unchanged files are hard-linked between snapshots to save storage space. It was inspired by FlyBack.

..., including drivers for Amazon S3, Azure, Google Cloud, etc... We have improved speed with regards to the hypervisor service versions, mainly due to more flexible buffering. Fpart is a tool that helps you sort file trees and pack them into bags (called "partitions"). It is developped in C and available under the BSD license. bKappa

    bKappa

    Cross-platform incremental backup

bKappa is a 2009 experiment in crude but transparent and cross-platform incremental backup. bKappa backups are simple directory trees and lists of files. They are easy to browse and examine and do not use symbolic or hard links. It is crude in the sense that bKappa only tracks files by name, not by content. This means it cannot detect that a file has been renamed and makes full copies of renamed and partially modified files. It generates standalone restore scripts for the POSIX shell and...

    Naeon

    Naeon

The safest way to store private data in untrusted (cloud) environments

Naeon is a secure cloud storage solution that uses unbreakable military-grade encryption and zero-knowledge privacy to protect confidential data in an untrusted environment. The data are encrypted using the AES 256-bit encryption algorithm with a randomly generated 128-character passphrase. Then, it is split into small pieces called chunks, which are obfuscated by adding random data to each chunk to make them unreadable and indecipherable to unauthorized individuals or processes. The...

    XSIBackup-DC

    XSIBackup-DC

VMWare ESXi Virtual Machine Backup, runs in free ESXi

©XSIBackup-DC is a C binary that runs in the ©ESXi shell and behaves as a backup and replica service. It follows the same principles as our previous ©XSIBackup editions, that is: a utility that runs in the hypervisor command line and accepts arguments and values stating which VMs to backup and where to copy them. It accepts local and remote SSH paths, thus you can backup and replicate VMs to local datastores or to remote repositories in any additional ©ESXi or Linux server. Download...

    diffpak

A huge files block differential compressor

A differential compresor (or a binary diff) for huge files. Unlike other tools, e.g. xdelta3, it searches for matching data through the whole source file, even if it weights several gigabytes, while using much less memory (with default configuration approx 25x less than the size of the source file). Output files are not compressed, so you can use any compressor you like with great results. It is quite fast for very similar files (about the speed of hdd, however it reads input files twice)...
