Lightweight utility for performing backups, with scripting capability
Simply-Scripted Backup is a lightweight utility for performing backups. It does a straight copy of files and folders (when the source is newer than the backup) and optionally stores the old backup file versions under a time-stamped folder. It can also clean the backup by deleting (or optionally moving to a time-stamped folder) files and folders that no longer appear in the source.
As an additional feature, the backup can be compared with the source, including a byte-for-byte comparison...

A snapshot based backup system. If snapshots aren't available hard links, sym links or copies are used instead. The backed up tree is always directly usable and does not need a backup client to decipher.
This program allows to upload files to a file server via command line, context menu or logon dialog. All logon settings can be stored inside a configuration file. Logon credentials such as username and password are stored encrypted.
Packup saves a directory tree into a set of CDs or DVDs. It does incremental backup. Packup is intended for ocasional users that need to quickly make a backup they can trust, although they have little expertise.
