Night Vision is a "planetarium" program that will display the heavens from any location on earth. Viewing options allow the user to control which sky objects to display, which font to use, and manipulation of various star parameters. Time may be set to run at multiple speeds, including backwards. Star charts may be printed. Night Vision is written in Java, allowing it to run on all major desktop systems (includes PCs, Macs, Linux, ...). It has been designed to be readily translatable into other languages. Additionally a port of Night Vision's Solar System window has been ported from Java to the Rust programming language, providing executables that can run directly on the host operating system. -

...The PUB249 pdf files did not show this error and are correct (as far as I checked). All Revisions 8+ and the Windows release have been fixed. This Python TK application calculates a good set of stars for a 3 star fix, makes all calculations similar to the FAAs Celestial Computation Sheet (see FAA doc FAA-H-8083-18). Also, you can create a PDF file that generates Pub 249 Vol 1 for any epoch you specify. The PUB249 as PDF is found under "Files". I wrote this for my aircraft bubble octant :-) It is mainly useful for air navigation as it assumes a bubble sextant but may be used for normal sextants as well. ... -

The core data structure of SENSITIZER is an optical group, which can be any optical surface in the lens file or a set of subsequent surfaces. These groups will be perturbed by varying their positions relative to the rest of the system (rigid-body-motions) and/or by adding Zernike shape deformations on their front surface. After a certain perturbation is applied, ZOS runs (sequential) raytracing to compute the optical performance such as centroid displacement or wavefront error. -

Parallelized FREquency DEComposer algorithm
...After selection of the initial frequency candidates, the algorithm passes through all their possible combinations and estimates their multi-frequency statistical significance. In the end, it prints out the set of largest frequency tuples that were still found significant. The GPU computing is implemented through CUDA and brings a significant performance increase. It is still possible to run FreDec solely on CPU, if no suitable GPU device is available in the system.
