VStar is a multi-platform, easy-to-use variable star observation visualisation and analysis tool. Night Vision is a "planetarium" program that will display the heavens from any location on earth. Viewing options allow the user to control which sky objects to display, which font to use, and manipulation of various star parameters. Time may be set to run at multiple speeds, including backwards. Star charts may be printed. Night Vision is written in Java, allowing it to run on all major desktop systems (includes PCs, Macs, Linux, ...). It has been designed to be readily translatable into other languages. Additionally a port of Night Vision's Solar System window has been ported from Java to the Rust programming language, providing executables that can run directly on the host operating system.

Iridium flares prediction application

Welcome to the StarFiles Homepage! This application is designed to sort FITS star image files taken by professional astronomers at observatories. The application sorts the files by their image type: Bias, Dark, Flat, and Object. The Flat and Object images are sorted by filters U, B, V, R, and I. The application allows the user to create and save a profile of a given observatory's FITS header format, for future sorting use. This application also provides a header viewer for FITS image file.

Nowadays the idea of a music of the spheres, or a cosmic music that descends from the planets seems more like poetic philosophy than anything scientific. However, when the scientist Kepler discovered special principles about planetary motion, he also reconsidered the music. Apparently his observance of a harmonic law of planetary motion was reason for him to propose a computable system of pitch and harmony deriving from angular velocity. The purpose of the programming project is as a tool to examine his system. With Java 2, it provides an open-source solution for listening to harmonies so generated by planetary motion.
