    Mistral Finetune

    Mistral Finetune

Memory-efficient and performant finetuning of Mistral's models

mistral-finetune is an official lightweight codebase designed for memory-efficient and performant finetuning of Mistral’s open models (e.g. 7B, instruct variants). It builds on techniques like LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) to allow customizing models without full parameter updates, which reduces GPU memory footprint and training cost. The repo includes utilities for data preprocessing (e.g. reformat_data.py), validation scripts, and example YAML configs for training variants like 7B base or instruct models. It supports function-calling style datasets (via "messages" keys) as well as plain text formats, with guidelines on formatting, tokenization, and vocabulary extension (e.g. extending vocab to 32768 for some models) before finetuning. The project also provides tutorial notebooks (e.g. mistral_finetune_7b.ipynb) to walk through the steps.

    Mixtral offloading

    Mixtral offloading

Run Mixtral-8x7B models in Colab or consumer desktops

Mixtral-Offloading is an open-source project designed to enable efficient inference of large Mixture-of-Experts language models such as Mixtral-8x7B on hardware with limited GPU memory. The project implements techniques that allow model components to be dynamically moved between CPU memory and GPU memory during inference, significantly reducing the amount of GPU VRAM required to run the model. This approach takes advantage of the sparse activation properties of mixture-of-experts architectures, where only a subset of expert networks are used for each token during generation. By selectively loading and caching the required experts, the system avoids keeping the entire model in GPU memory at once. The repository includes notebooks and code examples that demonstrate how to run large language models on consumer hardware such as personal GPUs or cloud notebook environments.

    MoCo (Momentum Contrast)

    MoCo (Momentum Contrast)

Self-supervised visual learning using momentum contrast in PyTorch

MoCo is an open source PyTorch implementation developed by Facebook AI Research (FAIR) for the papers “Momentum Contrast for Unsupervised Visual Representation Learning” (He et al., 2019) and “Improved Baselines with Momentum Contrastive Learning” (Chen et al., 2020). It introduces Momentum Contrast (MoCo), a scalable approach to self-supervised learning that enables visual representation learning without labeled data. The core idea of MoCo is to maintain a dynamic dictionary with a momentum-updated encoder, allowing efficient contrastive learning across large batches. The repository includes implementations for both MoCo v1 and MoCo v2, the latter improving training stability and performance through architectural and augmentation enhancements. Training is optimized for distributed multi-GPU environments, using DistributedDataParallel for speed and simplicity.

    Multilingual Speech Synthesis

    Multilingual Speech Synthesis

An implementation of Tacotron 2 that supports multilingual experiments

This repository provides synthesized samples, training and evaluation data, source code, and parameters for the paper One Model, Many Languages: Meta-learning for Multilingual Text-to-Speech. It contains an implementation of Tacotron 2 that supports multilingual experiments and that implements different approaches to encoder parameter sharing. It presents a model combining ideas from Learning to speak fluently in a foreign language: Multilingual speech synthesis and cross-language voice cloning, End-to-End Code-Switched TTS with Mix of Monolingual Recordings, and Contextual Parameter Generation for Universal Neural Machine Translation. We provide data for comparison of three multilingual text-to-speech models. The first shares the whole encoder and uses an adversarial classifier to remove speaker-dependent information from the encoder. The second has separate encoders for each language.

    MuseGAN

    MuseGAN

    An AI for Music Generation

MuseGAN is a deep learning research project designed to generate symbolic music using generative adversarial networks. The system focuses specifically on generating multi-track polyphonic music, meaning that it can simultaneously produce multiple instrument parts such as drums, bass, piano, guitar, and strings. Instead of generating raw audio, the model operates on piano-roll representations of music, which encode notes as time-pitch matrices for each instrument track. This representation allows the neural network to capture rhythmic patterns, harmonic relationships, and structural dependencies across instruments. The architecture is based on convolutional GAN models that learn temporal musical structure and inter-track relationships from training data. The project was trained using the Lakh Pianoroll Dataset, a large collection of multitrack musical sequences derived from MIDI files.

    NExT-GPT

    NExT-GPT

Code and models for ICML 2024 paper, NExT-GPT

NExT-GPT is an open-source research framework that implements an advanced multimodal large language model capable of understanding and generating content across multiple modalities. Unlike traditional models that primarily handle text, NExT-GPT supports input and output combinations involving text, images, video, and audio in a unified architecture. The system connects a large language model with multimodal encoders and diffusion-based decoders so it can interpret information from different sensory formats and generate responses in different media types. This architecture allows the model to convert between modalities, such as generating images from text descriptions or producing audio or video outputs based on textual prompts. The project also introduces instruction-tuning strategies that enable the model to perform complex multimodal reasoning and generation tasks with minimal additional parameters.
