    BoxMG4WRF

The BoxMG elliptic equation solver for WRF

This is a version of the Dendy-Moulton "Black Box Multigrid" elliptic equation solver (until a more permanent archive is established). It has been updated to allow single-precision solutions and is posted here for use with an upcoming release of WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting) model including storm electrification. Only runs under MPI at this time (i.e., no SMP/OpenMP support). The code here is not actively developed and is provided solely for use with WRF to support the WRF_ELEC storm electrification option. Supported architectures are Intel/AMD processors under Linux or OS X.

    WRF_ELEC

Storm electrification package for the WRF-ARW

NOTE: For WRF-ELEC with version 4.5.1, go to https://github.com/MicroTed/wrf4-elec This (older) project provides the external files need to compile electrification into the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model (version 3.9.1.1 currently). It contains modules for the lightning discharge scheme, the screening layer parameterization, communications, and include code that calls these subroutines.

    WUDAPT2WRF

    WUDAPT 2 WRF program

These programs and files will allow you to upload your LCZ map obtained out of WUDAPT into the WRF model following the framework proposed by Martilli et al. (2016). More info can be found here : http://www.wudapt.org/resources/

    EasyNC

Fortran 90 modules to manipulate data files in netCDF format

...[Acknowledgement] EasyNC was initially developed as a pre-processing tool for visualization of atmospheric and oceanic data at Korea Supercomputing Center, supported by the KISTI project, "National Supercomputing Infrastructure and Application Service" in 2012. Prof. Seong-Yu Hong and a graduate student Yui-Young Byun at Yonsei University kindly have offered their WRF simulation data for the case of typoon Muifa which passed the Korean Peninsular in August 2011.

    Python WRF Counter

Returns the time taken for WRF to execute from WRF log files

Simple python function that uses WRF log files to determine the amount of time taken for WRF to execute. Useful for finding computational efficiency of WRF schemes. This can also be combined with the datetime module to convert the output in seconds to an output in hours.
