TraceMAC is a Windows/Linux command-line tool that allows you to trace a specific MAC address thru Cisco switches. It works by connecting to a switch using SSH, SNMP, Telnet, HTTP or HTTPS and do some "show commands" and later process the output, this will happen recursively until it finds the switch where that MAC address (PC/Printer/Etc) is directly connected. ...Both scripts provide information about a home DSL network (which usually don't have SNMP agents). The first is a latency/"bandwidth" monitor that uses ping. Unlike similar MRTG addons, it uses traceroute to "autoconfigure" itself with the IPs of hops to a target, rather than hardcoding them. The second script uses the web-interface found in most DSL modems to collect connectivity status and DSL connection metrics (e.g. SNR margin).
