...BAC runs on Linux and probably most UNIX-type OSes. On Windows, it must be operated from the Cygwin environment.
It requires the following software to be installed:
- flac and metaflac (flac files only)
- vorbis-tools (ogg files only)
- faac and faad (aac files only)
- lame and madplay (mp3 files only)
- alac-decoder and mpeg4ip-utils (ALAC decode)
- ffmpeg (ALAC encode, wma decode)
- mplayer (wma decode)
- mp4v2-utils (AAC, ALAC, WAV decode)
BAC is now optimized for multiprocessing on multicore systems: a tunable number of cores can be used for simultaneous conversions.
QtGain is a simply frontend for MP3Gain, VorbisGain, AACGain and Metaflac which analyses and adjusts your media files so that they have the same volume without the need to reencode the files.
With QtGain you can simplify this job to replay gain your media files. Simply add your files or folders via drag & drop or select a folder with a file dialog. QtGain starts gaining immediately after adding some files and of course you can add more files while QtGain works on your files.

...It needs ffmpeg/avconv, oggenc, oggdec, faac, faad, flac, mplayer and lame to work. id3lib is optional for full functionality. Also optional are vorbis-tools and metaflac for handling other metadata. See README how/where to get that software.
Be sure about needed software when installing prebuilt packages!
