    HYPRE

    HYPRE

Parallel solvers for sparse linear systems featuring multigrid methods

...The HYPRE library is highly portable and supports a number of languages. Work on HYPRE began in the late 1990s. It has since been used by research institutions and private companies to simulate groundwater flow, magnetic fusion energy plasmas in tokamaks and stellarators, blood flow through the heart, fluid flow in steam generators for nuclear power plants, and pumping activity in oil reservoirs, to name just a few areas. In 2007, HYPRE won an R&D 100 award from R&D Magazine as one of the year’s most significant technological breakthroughs.

    Wflow.jl

    Wflow.jl

    Hydrological modeling

Wflow is Deltares’ solution for modeling hydrological processes, allowing users to account for precipitation, interception, snow accumulation and melt, evapotranspiration, soil water, surface water and groundwater recharge in a fully distributed environment. Successfully applied worldwide for analyzing flood hazards, drought, climate change impacts and land use changes, wflow is growing to be a leader in hydrology solutions. Wflow is conceived as a framework, within which multiple distributed model concepts are available, which maximizes the use of open earth observation data, making it the hydrological model of choice for data-scarce environments. ...

    PCRaster

    PCRaster environmental modeling software

Note: Active projects have been copied to Github: https://github.com/pcraster News, project information, documentation and more are available at http://www.pcraster.eu PCRaster is a collection of tools and software libraries tailored to the construction of spatio-temporal environmental models. Application domains are amongst others hydrology (rainfall-runoff, global water balance, groundwater (with Modflow)), ecology, or land use change. Two scripting languages (PCRcalc and Python) include a rich set of spatial operations for manipulating and analysing raster maps. A Python framework supports Monte Carlo simulations and data assimilation (Ensemble Kalman Filter and Particle Filter). The Aguila tool allows for the interactive visualisation of stochastic spatio-temporal data.

    MF-OWHM | MODFLOW OWHM

    MF-OWHM | MODFLOW OWHM

Simulation, analysis, and management of the movement of water

...While maintaining compatibility with existing MF versions, MF-OWHM includes: linkages for coupled heads, flows, and deformation; facilitation of self-updating models, additional observation and parameter options for higher-order calibrations; and redesigned code for faster simulations. MF-OWHM represents a complete IHM that fully links the movement and use of groundwater, surface water, and imported water for consumption by agriculture and natural vegetation on the landscape, and for potable and other uses.

    mSim_npsat

Groundwater flow and transport simulation Matlab Toolbox

The code has moved to https://bitbucket.org/giorgk/msim. The version here is outdated. mSim toolbox is a suite of Matlab functions which are primarily used to simulate Non Point Source Pollution in Groundwater aquifers based on Finite element methods. The current version of mSim solves the following equations in steady state: 1) Groundwater flow equation. 2) Particle Tracking. 3) 1D Advection dispersion equation. In addition mSim provides a number of functions which assist with the pre/post-processing tasks involve in a Finite Element simulation as well as functions which are used in the Non Point Source modeling such as convolution functions etc. ...
