    galplot

    Plot GALPROP output

Plot package for GALPROP https://sourceforge.net/projects/galprop Plots models and data for cosmic-ray spectra, secondary/primary ratios, gamma rays, synchrotron. Includes gamma-ray source population synthesis and corresponding plots. For gamma rays, convolves models with the Fermi-LAT response. This release is to assess interest. It requires many input data files (not included) which will be made available as required.

    galprop_skymap_convert

Convert galprop skymaps to standard healpix

A routine for converting GALPROP-generated HealPix skymaps to a compatible format which can be plotted by Aladin (v7), available from CDS at http://aladin.u-strasbg.fr. This allows free rotation of the sphere, avoiding the distortions of Aitoff and other projections often used. It is a very practical way to view and prepare skymap plots of GALPROP output. GALPROP outputs a spectrum per HealPix pixel, while Aladin requires each energy to be stored as a column. ...

    gcr_convert

converts cosmic-ray files from GALPROP for viewing / plotting.

The GALPROP program (http://galprop.stanford.edu) computes cosmic-ray propagation in the Galaxy, in 2D or 3D. The ouput cosmic-ray distribution is in the form of FITS files which however are not convenient for viewing or plotting with the standard ftools program fv, since the files have 4 or 5 dimensional arrays (due to the momentum and species axes) while fv handles only 3 dimensional arrays.

    galprop_synchrotron

    Synchrotron from cosmic-ray electrons

The GALPROP package (http://galprop.stanford.edu) computes cosmic-ray propagation and gamma-ray and other emissions. The extension to synchrotron radiation including polarized emission, 3D magnetic field models, and free-free emission and absorption, is described in a recent paper http://arxiv.org/abs/1309.2947, published version: http://mnras.oxfordjournals.org/content/436/3/2127 .

    galprop_propel

GALPROP update for accurate propagation calculation

The GALPROP program (http://galprop.stanford.edu) computes cosmic-ray propagation numerically. To obtain manifestly accurate solutions an explicit method is now available to replace the Crank-Nicolson operator-splitting method. This can be implemented in the public version of GALPROP with the update provided here. Instructions: replace the four files propel.cc, propel_diagnostics, Galdef.cc and Galdef.h and rebuild the executable.

    hadronic gamma rays

gamma rays from hadronic processes in astrophysics

...To supplement these matrices I provide here a C++ class which reads the matrices, interpolates on user-defined particle and gamma-ray energy grids, and computes the gamma-ray emissivity either differential or in user-defined bands. A sample user program is provided which can be edited to provide the required functionality. See also http://sourceforge.net/projects/galprop, which includes more models.

    bremsstrahlung

    Non-thermal bremsstrahlung c++ routine

A C++ version of the public GALPROP (http://galprop.stanford.edu) routine to compute non-thermal bremsstrahlung, with added features to compute the gamma-ray emissivity either differential or in user-defined bands.
