In the project that instigated this work the mapping between the DAOs and the XML DOM was not one for one and encoding the conversion into the DOAs was not a good idea. While at first sight this may seem similar to dozer (http://dozer.sourceforge.net) the primary difference is that this is code generation and does not have the overhead of using introspection at run time. -

...As opposed to the external approach, the intrinsic approach does not necessitate any comparison of the suspicious document against the potential sources of plagiarism. InAra corpus comprises 1024 documents; 80% of them contain passages borrowed from other documents to simulate plagiarism. For each suspicious document an XML file is associated ; it contains the length and the position of each plagiarism passage. The task of the corpus user is to develop a method that is able to detect the largest possible number of the plagiarism passages with the minimum false positives. -
