WhisperUI is a browser-based speech-to-text tool that uses OpenAI’s Whisper speech recognition engine. It converts uploaded audio into editable text or subtitle (SRT) files with high accuracy, making it useful for transcription, captioning, and language research.

How the conversion works

1. Upload your audio or video file through the web interface.
2. WhisperUI processes the media with Whisper’s ASR to produce a draft transcription.
3. Review and edit the text in the built-in editor, then export as plain text or an SRT subtitle file.
4. Download the final files or save them for further use.

Access requirements and pricing

You must supply an OpenAI API key to use the service. Billing is based on token consumption from the OpenAI API; total cost varies with audio length and selected model settings.
