Verdun is a historically grounded first-person shooter that recreates the Battle of Verdun during World War I. The game emphasizes teamwork and authenticity: squad-based multiplayer, period-accurate environments, and encounters that reflect the unpredictable nature of trench warfare — for example, you may suddenly find yourself fighting while wearing a gas mask during an enemy chemical strike.

The primary match type

Frontlines is Verdun’s centerpiece mode. Two sides, each made up of multiple squads, contest control of successive trench lines. One side attacks while the other defends, and defenders typically enjoy a notable advantage. After an attack ends, teams swap roles so the former defenders become attackers, creating a back-and-forth momentum across the map.
