Overview of the Tapo Mobile App

The Tapo app gives you a single, user-friendly place to manage and watch over your smart home gadgets. It simplifies device setup, remote control, and status monitoring so you can manage lights, cameras, plugs, doorbells, and other compatible devices from your phone.

Quick-start: how to begin

Open the app and create your Tapo account when prompted — this account is used to manage and add devices.
Make sure your phone is on the same Wi‑Fi network you intend the devices to use.
Follow the in-app wizard to add a device, complete its setup, and move it into any groups you want.
Once devices are listed in your account, tap one to access its controls and status.

Using voice assistants and integrations

Tapo works with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for hands-free control.
To use Alexa, enable Tapo in your Alexa app and link your account; then issue voice commands to any linked device.
To use Google Assistant, add Tapo via Google Home and authorize access so you can control devices by voice through Google Home routines.

Controlling devices

From a device’s control screen you can turn it on or off and adjust settings such as brightness, color, or temperature where supported.
You can operate devices directly in the app or use voice commands once the assistant integration is set up.
