Overview: Keep your Mac Awake with Taurine

Taurine is a small utility that prevents your Mac from going into sleep mode. It lives in the menu bar as a pill-shaped icon and, when enabled, temporarily disables sleep and the screensaver so long-running tasks can finish uninterrupted.

How it works

• Click the pill icon in the menu bar to activate the app.
• While active, Taurine suspends the system’s energy-saver behavior and blocks the screensaver from starting.
• Click the icon again to return your Mac to its usual power settings.

Taurine is useful when you need your machine to stay awake for processes that take longer than normal, such as extended exports, lengthy uploads or downloads, demonstrations, or unattended scripts.
