A compact, privacy-first browser
SSuite NetSurfer is a free, English-language web browser built for users who want speed and privacy. It’s an evergreen application — meaning it receives automatic updates — and uses Microsoft Edge’s WebView2 (Chromium-based) runtime control. Unlike cloud-based browsers, NetSurfer runs locally on your machine and is designed to limit tracking and data collection while you browse.
Tabs, home layout, and quick-access tools
NetSurfer uses a tabbed interface that lets you keep multiple pages open simultaneously. The start page includes a large digital clock and one-click links to saved favorite sites. Along the lower edge of the home screen there’s a dock-like toolbox (similar in feel to macOS’s Dock) that gives fast access to SSuite’s bundled utilities.
How the interface works
Browsing follows a familiar layout: the address bar sits at the top with navigation controls such as refresh, back/forward, and a home button nearby. You’ll also find options for saving files, printing pages, and adjusting zoom. The overall structure should feel intuitive to anyone accustomed to mainstream browsers.
Built-in privacy and visible security indicators
NetSurfer emphasizes privacy and blocking of unwanted tracking:
- It can block social-media and site trackers as well as page cookies.
- A private browsing mode is available for sessions that leave no local history.
- Each URL displays a color-coded indicator that reflects the page’s encryption and security status, helping you assess safety at a glance.
Performance, updates, and extras
Because it relies on Chromium’s runtime control, NetSurfer offers performance comparable to other modern browsers, with automatic updates and no homepage advertisements. It also includes a visual tool that highlights a page’s security level, setting it apart from some competitors that only offer a private mode.
